MINUTES Adjourned Session April 16 4:~0 P N 1s 367 at the matter of the extension of the time for the payment of 1927 City Taxes, and after sideralbe discussion, the following resolution was unanimously adopted: time for payment of WHEREAS, the/State and County Taxes hmm been extended to Nay 1st. 1928, and in order to prevent confusion, and ~e City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in an adjottrned session the City Hall in Sanford, Florida at 4:30 P N April 16, 192~. City Clerk, F S L~mson The Chairman announced that the primary purpose of the meeting is to consider con- ~THEREAS, of City Taxes, and '~HEREAS, WHEP~EA S, there has heretofore been an extension of fifteen days for the payment the Public has responded to that extension of time, and in the judgment of the City Commission, there should be an additional extension to correspond with the extension of time granted by the State and County, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Tax Collector be authorized and ordered to receive 0ity taxes until May 1st. 1928 without the imposition of any penalty. 0ommunication read from the Library Board protesting against the dismissal of the Librarian, Miss Smith, without additional notice. After consideration of the matter, the Clerk was instructed to notify the Library Board that due to the fact that Miss Smith cam, to Sanford expecting to be employed for at least one year in the acpacity of Librarian, as only about five months of that time had elapsed ; the City Commission has authorized the payment to Miss Smith of l~he balance of her salary for the month of April at once, and also and expenses the payment for her railroad ticket/to her home in St. Louis, No., Miss Smith to be allowed to leave at once. City Attorney DeOottes presented to the Commission the need for additional help in the office of the Clerk to prepare data in connection with foreclosure of delinquent Tax Certificates. Commissioner Miller moved, seconded by Commissioner Chase and unanimously adopted that the Clerk employ one clerk at not over $25.00 per week to prepare the data required. City Clerk presented list of checks drawn upon the Seminole County Bank and returned after its closing, which have not been redeemed by those signing ss~ne. Same were referred to the City Attorr~y for what action as may be necessary to enforce the payment thereof. On motion duly adopted, the following taxes for the year 1927 were ordered cancell~ for the reasons given, it being evident that an error had been made in the assessment.
