Representatives of Bottling Companies whose plants are located within the City Limits appeared and protested against the allowing of out-of-town bottling companies doing business in Sanford, in view of the fact that the companies located in Sanford pay taxes , whereas those operatinge from out of Sanford Do not. Upon motion of Commissioner Miller, which unanimously prevailed, the City Attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance placing the license for Bottling Works and Soda Water Factories 16cated outside, but doing business within Sanford, at $200.00 per year. City Clerk presented Receipt No. 27105, issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta to the 8anford Atlantic National Bank, Sanford Florida, for U S Treas. Certfs. TD 2 1928, 6-15-2~ & S 0 A Value $23,500.00 to be held by the City of 8anford as additional collateral security for City of Sanford funds deposited in the Sanford Atlantic ~ational Bank, Sanford Florida. Same was approved and ordered filed in the City Safe. City Clerk submitted Receipt received from the Trust Department of the First National Bank of Sanford, Florida for certain securities received from the Commercial Department of Said First National Bank of Sanford Florida, same to be held as additional security for City of Sanford funds deposited in the First National Bank of Sanford, Florida, same being in words and figures as follows: May 16, 1928 "Received of the Commercial Department of the First National Bank of the First National Bank of Sanford Florida, the following described bonds and/ or notes, the same to be held in Trust for account of the City of Sanford, Florida as security for any or all deposits of money held by the Commercial Department of s~aid First National Bank of Sanford for account of the City of Sanford in either Savings Accounts or accounts subject to check. This Trust Receipt may be cancelled by consent of the City Clefs of the City of Sanford upon substitution of satisfactory security, or upon the First National Bank of Sanford showing that the amount of funds on deposit in said First National Bank is not sufficient to war- rant the holding of this amount of security. Upon motion duly adopted the City Manager was instructed to purchase fou~ tennis nets for use on the Municipal Tennis Courts, the present nets being worn our and un- serviceable. Upon motion duly adopted, the City Manager was instructed that in view of the fact that the State Legislature had set May 30th of each year as Memorial Day, and therefore a legal holiday, all 0ity Offices should be closed on that day. City Clerk submitted audit of City's books as of March 31st. 1928, as prepared by Hall & Pentland, Oertified Public Accountants. City Manager submitted report as to repairing streets within City Limits, where · the paving has cracked. Action was postponed.
