The Oity Commission of theOity of Sanford Florida met in regular session at the
City Hall in Sanford, Florida at 20'Olock P M October 22nd. 1928
Present: Commissioner E F Housholder, Mayor.

Absent: Commissioner, S 0 Chase.

Minutes of Regular meeting of October 8th , adjourned meeting of Uctober 9th
Adjourned meeting of October 10th; adjourned meeting of 6ctober llth and adjourned meeting
October 12th 1928 read and approved.
~A'he Clerk presented claim of Mrs Carrie E Spencer, amounting tO $199.27 for
d~m~ges alleged to have been sustained to her automobile by reason of an accident accuring
between the Dodge Sedan owned by Mrs Spencer and one of the City water trucks.
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Insurance Adjustor of this claim being
presented.
Mr Nelson Gray and Mr R B Wight appeared before the Commission requesting that
action which had been previously tentatively agreed upon, be taken at this time looking
toward the City taking over the Yacht Club Building and leasing said building to the Sanford
Yacht Club for a period of ten years, the City to assume $698.08 in obligations now standing
against the building.
Thereupon, upon motion duly adopted, the proposition of the Sanford Yacht Club
was accepted, and the Clerk was instructed to notify the City Attorney to draw up Quit-Claim
Deed from the Sanford Yacht Club to the City of Sanford for the Yacht Club Building, and
also to draw up a contract leasing the building to the Sanford Yacht Olub for a period of
ten years at $1.00 per year, with the privilege of buying at the end of the ten years at
a price equivalent to the amount of money the City would have put into it.
Upon motion duly adopted $45.00 of a fine of $175.00 against I W Harper, now
in prison, was ordered cancelled, provided that the balance of the fine, amounting to $130.OO
and also a fine of $45.00 previously ~evied against him be paid.
Upon motion duly adopted, it was ordered that the balance of $35.00 of the original
fine of Elijah Green be reduced to $20.00 and credit of $15.00 be given for time served in
jail, providied that the $20.00 be paid at once.
~Upon motion duly adopted the balance of the sentence of Buela Coleman, now serving/ /
a term of cO days in Jail, was ordered suspended. Municipal Judge, W E White having recommende~
this action in view of the fact that the prisoner has two small childred to care for, and also !
in view of the fact that she has been a model prisoner.
Upon motion duly adopted $31.25 of the 1927 Per~-Jonal Tax against SAND~ANDERSON
was ordered cancelled on account of over-assessment.
Upon motion duly adopted $16.O0 of the 1927 personal tax against C R BERNER was
ordered cancelled on account of over-assessment.
Upon motion dully adopted $11.25 of the 192Y Personal Tax against MR~ K S DUTTON

Upon Motion duly adopted it was ordered that the tax certificate against
Lots i and 2 Blk I Tr. 6, for 1918 City of Sanford taxes be cancelled, it appearing that
the 1918 taxes against this property were paid and the certificate was issued in error
Upon motion duly adopted the 1927 personal tax of W J Thigpen was ordered
reduced from $50.00 to $25.00 on account of over-assessment.
~ayment authorized to Mike Wilson, C Chorpening and C D Couch of $7.00 each for
special services in connection with t~king of City 0~nsus on October 14th and $?.00 each
for same work on October 21st 1928
City Tax Collector presented the completed list of Tax Certificates covering all
unpaid taxes on real estate for the year 1927. Action deferred on the filing of said certif-
icates.
City Tax Collector also presented list of all unpaid Personal Taxes for the year
1927.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned to meet October 25th
at 2 P M 1928.
