M: The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Special Session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at Two O'Clcok P M July 2, 1928. Present: Commissioner E F Housholder, Mayor. " Frank L Miller City Manager, G. H Cairns. City Clerk, F S Lamson~ 0hief of Police , R G Williams Absent: Commissioner $ 0 Chase. The Clerk presented to the Commission the Preliminary Tax Assessment Roll for the year 1928, Thereupon the Commission proceeded to sit as an Equalization Board to hear any objections or complaints which may be made as to the valuations listed on said Assessment Roll. There being no complaints registered with the Clerk , and it being the desire of the Commission to notify each property owner, by mail, of the valuation on said roll of his or her property, prior to final adoption; consideration of the tax roll was continued until a later date, and the Clerk was instructed to notify the various property owners as outlined above. The Clerk suhnitted to the Commis~iou prelim~nary estimate or budget of Revenues and Expenditures of the City for the year 1928~29, and the same was taken under advisement. City Manager Cairns, was instructed to negotiate with the town of Longwood Florida, for the sale of Chemical Wagon now used by the Fire Department, the Officials of Longwood havin~o expressed a desire to buy the Chemical Wagon, and it being no longer needed by the Sanford Fire Department, the consideration to be $300.00. City N~nager Cairns was instructed to negotiate with Mr H,T.Russell for leasing five acres of land owned by the City lying adjacent to the Municipal Ball Park, for five years, at a yearly rental of $350.00 Upon motion duly adopted, the 1921 Personal Tax of Peter Botzis was reduced from $147.65 to $109.3&, the difference of $38.27 to be charged to errors and insolvencies. Upon motio~ duly adopted the 192? personal Tax of Mrs M T Reizenstein on Sanford Ave. was ordered 0ancelled, it appearing that Mrs Reizenstein had disposed of her property at the location given, prior ro Jan l, 1927. Upon motion duly adopted the 1926 personal tax of the ing to $93.75 was ordered cancelled, this Company having since Try-Me Bottling Company, amount- gone out of business, the presentI Try-Me BottliE Company having no connection with the Company against which the above tax was assessed. Chief of Police Williams was instructed and ordered that tents and booths now withim the fire limits in violation of City Ordinances must be removed within ten days.
