091741-Special Session MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD. FLORIDA,~ ' 19_~ The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hell in the City of Sanford, Florida at 12:00 o'clock Noon, September 17, 1941. Present: Commissioner W.C.Hill, Mayor. " H.James Gut " Edward Miggins " M.J.Lodge City Attorney Fred R. Wilson City Clerk H N Sayer. Absent: Commissioner G.E.Rollins Meeting called to order by t~e Chairman. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Special Referendum Election held on September 16,1941, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election as follows: FOR ....... Election of the Mayor and Members AGAINST - of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florids, being elected by the duly qualified voters for'a term of two years in accordance with the provisions of an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Florida in 1941 Election of the Mayor and Members of the City Commission of the City of Sanford,Florida, being elected by the duly qualified voters for e term of two years in accordance with the provisions of an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of Florida in 194-1. Mutilated Ballots Thrown Out Total Votes Cast Thereupon Commissioner Higgins of the Special Referendum Election held September 16,1941 4?8 Votes. 536 Votes 11 1025. votes moved that the returns of the Cler~ and Inspectors be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. Thereupon, it was declared that the result of said election held on September 16, shows th~ a majority of voters participating in said election voted against 1941, the adoption of amendment to the present Charter of the City of Sanford, viding for the election of the Mayor and Members of the City Commission, with the provision of an Act passed by the Legislature of the State of 1941.
