Insoector Duncan ne~t renorted that ~n old two story dwelling located on Lot 3 Block 9 Tier B, is in a dll~o~dated unsafe condition, and also ~ sm~!l dwelling located on Lot A, Block A, DeForrest AdditiOn is In a ~llaold~ted ~nd unsafe condition, and recommended theft ~ame be condemned and demolished. Thereunon the City Attorney was directed to oreoare a resolution condemning the aforessld buildings, for oassage at the next meetlnE. On motion duly carried, Water Plant Englneer Abrs~hame ws~ ne×t authorized and dlrected to attend a six dPy Civilian Defense Course for Water Plant by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and operators which will be conduc~M~n Tamoa on J~nuary ~10,1942, the connection therewith to be borne by the City. In connection w~th the oreosrstlon for home defense during the e~is%~ng national emergency caused by war conditions, consideration was ne~t given to the vital necessity for installing a general alarm signal to warn the citizens agaln~air raids. Tnereuoon after considerable dlscusslon, it'was fe~t that there is not an adequate device available in the City for this ouroose, and the Clerk was authorized to obta]n orlces for furnlshlng a ~.~ H.P. Motor, 220 Volts, 60 Cycle, 3 Phase Electric Siren with Remote Control, to be Instal. led on the tower at the Munlcioal W~ter Plant. There being no further bus~nes~ the meet~n~ adjourned.
