Minutes of regular meeting of February 23, 1942, next read and aooroved. Current invoices and oayrolls for the month of February ,1942 , oronerly audited and vouchered as evidenced by voucher Nos. 4355 thru g440, Submitted, examined, and nayment authorized. Monthly reports of streets, sanitation, health, water, nolice, fire, library and golf departments for the month of February , 1942 submitted and examined. Financial statement and statement of revenues and exoend~tures during the month of February, 1942 submitted and examined. Bank statements in all accounts for the month of February, 1942, properly submitted and examined. On motion of Commissioner Higgtns, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and Carried, the Commission next authorized neyment of the following notes and interest thereon, due March ll, 1942, issued in oayment of nrooerty nurchased for the airoort from Mrs. None A.Wylly , deceased: Alberta Wylly Ellis $265.OO' Thomas C.Wylly $265.00, and Chester W.Goodrich $530.00. Bill of Sanford Electric Contracting Comoany in amount of and electrician services furnished in wiring City owned building for the Defense Training School, next nresented, and on motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried, same was aooroved end o,yment authorized. Bill of Nye Odorless Incinerator Comoany in amount of $135.00 covering reoairs to smoke Stack on City's Incinerator, nex~ oresented, and on motiou duly adooted , same was aooroved and oayment ordered. On motion of Commissioner Lodge, seconded by Commissioner Higgin, and carried, the Commission ne~t aooroved the sale to Foster SmitH of an old two story house located on Block 6 Tier 14 ( Less S.W.1/4) at a orice of $150.O0, said house to be demolished and rem~ed from premises. This nrooerty having been acquired by the City thru foreclosure of taxes and soecisl assessment liens. Ao~lication next received from Mrs Mattle Heater to ourch~se Lot at a price of $135.97, which reoresents the amount of the City's !Sene under the ad- Justed basis, nlus foreclosure cost, offering to oay $10.OO cash and balance in monthly instalments of $~.OO each. Thereupon after careful consideration, and on m~ion duly carried, the Commission authorized the sale of the afores.id orooerty to Mrs Heater at ~ nrice of $135.97, aooroved covering materials Florlds, met in 7:30 o'clock P.M. reconciled MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, March 9 at 7;~0 P M subject to City taxes for years 1941 ~nd 1942 and any unnetd State and County taxes, payable $10.OO caen and balance in monthly instalments of $8.OO each, with interest at 8% on the unsaid balance, clue one-twelfth of the annual City taxes. The Clerk nest renorted that the roof on the club butldlng at the municioal golf course is in very bad condition and needs re~laclng. Thereupon, the Clerk was instructed to obtain bids for furnishing a 90 sound slate roll roofing and labor for re-roofing the club building, and authorized tO award the contract to the lowest bidder. The: Clerk next reoorted that the roofs ere in bad condition on several of the build- ings recently acquired by the City thru foreclosure of taxes and soectal assessment liens, and should be reoaired immediately. 'lhereuoon, on motion duly sdooted, the Clerk was authorized to make the necessary reoatrS to the roofs on the aforesaid buildings. Consideration next given to the matter of the Golf Club Advisory Committee not allow- ing non-resident members of the Sanford County Club the orlvilege of oart~cioatlng tournaments that are now being held on the golf course. Thereuoon, on motion duly carried, the Commt~si5n adooted s oollcy, "that any member, shall be entitled to comoete in any tournament or whether resident or non-resident , contest held on the municipal golf course," and lnst~cted the Clerk to notify the manager of the golf course and the Golf Club advisory Committee that this oollcy shall orevsil throughout the management of the course. Thereuoon the bity Attorney was instructed to notify Mr. Freeman that unless the dogs are removed from the sen a~ ~hls location, the City will be forced to take necessary action to eliminate this nuisance. Further consideration next given to the matter of ourchaslng two additional small air raid sirens for the downtown business districts. Thereuoon after considerable discussion and on recommendation of Commissioner Gut the Commission authorized the ourchase of two electric one-half lip Federal Air Raid Sirens from Bob Lee Distribution , Tamoa, Florida, at a price of $75.00 each. Consideration next given to the matter of ourchas~ng a new automobile for the Police Deoartment and transfer the 1940 Chevrolet Sedan, to the Fire Deoartment, in view of the fact that for his oersonal car under the ~rovistons of the now being used by the Police Deoartment, Fire Chief Cleveland cannot secure tires National Rubber Ra. tloning Board, and will not be able to continue the oresent arrangements with the City of furnishing his Bersonal automobile 2or use in connection M~th City duties in the Fire Deoartment. Thereuoon Commissioner Lodge moved that the Clerk be instructed to obtain bids for furnishing a new Ford DeLuxe Automobile equlooed with a 100 HP Mercury Motor, for consideratior at the next meeting.
