Bishop " H.James Gut " Edward Higglns ,, M.J.Lodge City Clerk H.N.Sayer City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned Session at o'clock P.M. March 17,1942. in the City of Senford, Florida at 5:00 Mayor Meeting called to order by the ~hatrman. Application next received from the Seminole County Fair Association for a permit to hold their regular annual Fair on the orooerty lying between First Street and Second Street and San Carlos Ave. and Mellonville Ave. on Aoril 13th. thE~ Aoril 18,1942. Thereuoon after careful consideration, the Commission grented the Seminole County Fslr Association to hold the Fair on the aforesaid orooerty, with e oroviso that they obtain permission from the owner of said orooerty, and also secure a written consen from all residents within a radius of two blocks of this location. Request newt received from Fireman Chester T. Estes for an advance of $30.00 on his salary , to be repaid go the City at the rate of $5.00 every two weeks, stating that the money is needed to oay the cost of medical treatment for his wife. the Commission authorized an advance on salary Thereugon, on motion duly adopted, to Firem~n Estes in amount of $30.00. On motion of Commissioner Higglns, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried, the Commission next authorized the purchase from Reel & Sons of a second bend electric water cooler for th~ Defense Training School at a cost of $25.00. Request next received from students of Seminole High School that the City place an advertisement in the 1941-1942 issue of the Salmagnudi as has been done in previous years, and on motion duly carried, a one-fourth cage advertisement wes authorized at a cost o~ $12.OO. On motiou duly carried, the Commission newt approved the payment of travel expense in amount of $7.56 incurred by Neyor Hill and Commissioner Hlgg~ns in trio to Jscksouvi!le, March 13th. to confer with Commander Meade of the United States Naval Air Station with respect to the use of Ssnford's Airport for a Naval Air Base.
