Mrs Hile's Father having owned this orooerty before the City acquired it thru foreclosure of tax liens. Thereuoon, on motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Hig~ins and carried, the Commission authorized the ~ale of the aforesaid orooerty to Mrs. H~le at a ortce of $177.19, subject to City taxes for year 1941 and any unoeid State & County taxes, nayable $25.00 cash and balance in monthly instalments of $10.00 each sacks interest st 8% on the unoaid balance, clue On motion duly carried, the Commission of cement for tbs WPA siroort oroJect for one-twelfth of the annual City taxes. next authorized the ourchase of 20 the ouroose ~ raising some of the cetch basins and head-walls in the drainage system. Request next received from the Bundles for America Club for the City to furnish free water for~heir office at 116 Magnolia Ave. and on motion duly carried same was authorized. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Oommtssloner Bishoo and carried, the Commission ne~t authorized the ourch~se of one Lincoln Hydraulic Pressure Grease Gun from Henry Carroll et a orlce of $~O.O0 for the City's re~air shoo. On motion duly carrie~, the Commission next authorized the emoloyment of Carl E. Will,ams as Patrolman in the Police Deoartment at a salary of $90.OO per month to fill the vacancy crested by the reslgnstloo of Charles Dunn Jr. On motion 5uly adooted, th~ Commission next authorized the emoloyment of N.E. Jennlngs as s regular colics oa~rolman to fl~ the vacancy crested by the ~esignation of L.A.Bsrbierl. On recommendation of Chief of Mollce Williams, and on motion duly cerrled, 148 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, of Eqmer C. Nolan in the Fire carried, the Commission next authorized the emoloyment Deoartment at e salary of $82.50 oer month to fill the vacancy created by Fireman Vernon E.Carroll being drafted into military service. On recommendation of Fire Chief Cleveland, and on motion duly carried, the Commission next ~uthorlzed the salary of F~reman John R. Crow increased from $82.50 oer month to $90.00 ~er month, effective Aorll 16,1992. Thpreuoon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Blshoo moved that all such orooerties be offered for sale for a soectfied Orice, subject to any unosid liens. consideration, the Commission authorized the sale of of $175..00 subject to 1942 City taxes end any unoaid State and count tawes, instead of at a ortce with a!] taxes as has been done in some sales. Seconded bM Comml~sioner High, ns and carried. oaid to January 1,1942 On motion duly carried, the ~l,rk was next transfer file from Coleman's Office Equloment Co. at in the Clerk's office in connection with the machine authorized to ourchase a cost of $~4.25 that accounting system. a ledger is needed Communicstlon next read from Municloal Judge Miller recommending that the Elizabeth Gilyard, convicted In the Municios] following cases be susnended: Case No 28738 of Court under date of November ].2, 1951, of disorderly conduct and sentenced to Day later, but ]eft Sanford the convicted in Municioal Court sentenced $5.00 and cost $5.O0 and costs, paid $5.OO and released to oay the cost following day after trial; Case No 2~992 of Henry Bryan, under date of January 26, 19~2 of disorderly cou~,uct and or 30 days, oaid $3.OO and left Sanford owing balance; case No 29595 of Albert Wh~taker convicted t~ Municlosl Court under date of February P?,1957, or reckless driving and sentenced to $10.00 and costs or 30 days Thereupon Commissioner Gut moved that the aforessld cases be susoended ss recommended by Judge Miller. Seconded by Commissioner Blshoo and carried. Request next received from the local Chairman of the Navy Relief Society for a donation toward its Fund for helping care of needy families of those who are in the Service. Thereuoon after careful consideration, it was felt that this request is for a worthy cause, ~nd on motion of Commissioner Higglns, seconded by Commissioner Blshoo and carried, a donation in amount of $20.00 was authorized for this ouroose. On motion duly carried, Chief of Police Williams was next authorized to ob- tain ~olds for furnishing uniforms for the Po!tce Deoartment, for consideration of the Commission st the next regular meeting.
