Williams Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of regular meeting of May 25th. 1942, next read and aooroved. The Clerk next advised the Come, lesion that the United States Navy is going to use City water for suoolying the Naval Ooerational Training Base that is being constructed on the airoort orooerty and has requested the City to furnish a six inch meter for registering the water, which will be installed at the City's main at southwest corner of Mellonville Ave. and Geneva St., from which the Navy will connect its own six inch service, stating that this will necessitate ourch~sing a six inch comoound meter, which can be obtained from Neotune Meter Comoany at a orice of $5?2.00 Thereuoon Commissioner Higglns moved that the Clerk be authorized to ourchase a six inch comoouud meter from Neotune Eeter Comosny at a orice of $572.OO for the nuroose of furnishing water for the Naval Ooerational Training Base. Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Bishoo and carried, the ~ommission ne×t authorized oayment on note to Sanford Atlantic National Bank of the third quarterly installment in amount of $1,875.OO and interest due July 1,1942, and osyment on note to First State Bank of DeLand of the third quarterly installment in amount of $625.00 and interest due July 1,1942. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Bishoo and carried, the Clerk was next authorized to transfer $3,107.75 to the Certificates of indebtedness Redemotion Account at the Ssnford Atlantic National B~nk to be used to retire the Certificates of Indebtedness due July 1,1942, the bank to be authorized to nay such certificates of indebtedness as they are oresented for oayment and charge to this account. The Clerk next reoorted funds on hand in the Sinking Fund in the amount of $20,$96.54 for the ouroose of retiring Refunding Series A bonds. Thereuoon after considerable discussion, and on motion duly carried, the Ulerk was instructed not to ourchase any Refunding Series A bonds with the aforesaid funds on hand in the Sinking Fund, until ordered by the Commission. Request next received from ~%rs Fred T.Willtams for the City to remove an oak tree from the oarkway in front of her home at 320 Oak Ave., and on recommendation of Bunt. Moughton , same was aooroved, orovided she Day for the service. The Clerk next oresented tentative budget of ~evenues and exoenditures for the fiscal year 1942-1943, and sam'e was taken under consideration and study. The roll was called and the vote stands as follows: Commissioner Hill Aye " Btshoo Aye " Gut Aye " Higglns Aye " Lodge Aye Thereuoon the Chairman announced that the City Commission of the City of banford Florida, by unsnlmous vote, had oassed and edooted Ordinance No.325, entitled: ORDINANCE NO. 325 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFOED, FLORIDA, REQUIRING A LICENSE TC BE OBTAINED AND A LICENSE TAX TO BE PAID ON THE FIRST DAYS OF JULY, OCTOBER, JANUARY AND APRIL OF EACH YEAR OR FOR ANY PART OF SAID QUARTERLY PERIODS, BEGINNING JULY 1st. 1~2. ~OR THE OPERATION IN SAID CITY FOR PROFIT OF ANY COIN OPERATED G~ME, AMUSEMENT OR RECREATIONAL DEVICE, CONTRIVANCE OR FACILITY, EXCEPT PHONOGRAPHS, AUTOMATIC PIANOS, music boxes and other musical instruments, and for each oleos of business AT WHICH OPERATED; PRESCRIBINS THE ~OUNT OF SUCH LICENSE TAX AND A PENALTY FOR THE VIO!~TION OF THIS ORDINANCE. On motion duly adooted said Ordinance No. 325 was next ordered POSTED st the front door of the City HsI! in the City of Ssnford, Florida, in aeeordsnce with the terms of the Charter, as amended. On motion of Commissioner Lodge, seconded by Commissioner Hlgglns and carried, the Commission next authorized the nurchase of lk summer cants for the Fire men from W.E.W~tson at a cost of $10.OO each. Communication next read from A.B.Sechrest, Jasoer Florida, offering nine used Cast Iron King Whiteway Lamo Posts for sale at a orice of $225.00 delivered to Sanford. Thereupon on advice of the Clerk that the City will need these costs for reolacement puroosee, Commissioner Gut moved that the Clerk be authorized to offer Er Bechrest the e~m of $200.00 for the aforesaid whiteway lamo costs, oayable $1OO.OO uoon delivery and balance within 90 days. Seconded by Commissioner Higglns and carried. The following bids next submitted for furnishing a used automobile for the City Clerk. SAME WAS PLACED ON ITS FIRST READING AND READ IN FULL BY THE CLERK. Comoany for a 1937 Dodge Sedan at a price of $250.00 be acceoted. Seconded by Commissioner Gut end carried. Fire Chief Cleveland next reoorted that an old two story dwelling house located T ' on Lot 11 Block 7 Tier B, E R rafford s Meo of Senford is in a dilapidated condition and a fire hazard, and recommended that same be condemned. Thereupon the City Attorney was instructed to oreoere a resolution condemning this building, for oassege at the next meeting of the Commission.
