Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
~inutes of regular meetln~ of June 8th. Snecisl called meeting of June ll, and
regular meeting of June 22, 1942 next read and aooroved.
C~rrent invoices and oayrolls for t~e month of June !942, orooerly audited and
vouchered as evidenced by vouchers Nos. ~7~ thru ~E43, submitted, examined, a~oroved
and oayment authorized.
Monthly reoorts of Streets, San~tation, Health, W~ter, Police, Fire and Golf
Deoartments for the month of June 19~P, submitted end examined.
Financial ~tstement ~nd statement of revenues ~n~ exoendltures during the month
of June 1942 submitted and exam!ned.
Bank statements ~n all ~ceounts for the month of June 1942, orooer!y reconciled~
submitted and e~am~ned.
Communication next read from Mrs. Anna Messer with reference to the aoolication
of =ene G. Baber, oresented at the meetln~j of July oth, for a oermit to ooerate a oool
room and beer garden at 406-~ Sanford Avenue, stating thet she is the owner of the
and. requesting the Commission to Grant Mr. Bsber the aforesaid oermit
she may receive a nominal rental from the orooerty wltn which to Day City
store building,
in order that
taxes on same.
Thereuoon after further consideration, Corn~Issloner ~ut moved t~ t the Gity grant
at 406-8 Sanford Avenue.

Bus Lines loading and unloading

Office, and at corner on west side of Magnolia
Thereuoon after careful consideration, and on motion duly carried, the Commission
authorized the oarking soaces at the aforesaid locations to be desiganted and reserved
for use by the City Bus Lines for loading and unloading oassengers.
On motion duly adooted, the Clerk was ne~t directed to notify Mr. Volie Williams
to submit a written schedule of the orooosed ooerations of the Oity Dus lines, for
consideration and revision by the City Commission.
Aopltcation next received from Kessler & Gill for oermit tolerate a junk yard
at the southwest corner of Seminole Boulevard and French Avenue.

or demolished and removed, and t~t the s~me shall wl~hln 60 deys from date hereof be
out in a state of sound reoalr or demolished and removed, or t~t cause be shown at the
regular meeting of the City Commission at ?:30 P.M. on the 27th. day of July 1942, at
the Clty~Hall in ssld City, why the same should not be done.

1942
The Clerk next advised that Hrs Juna Lowry Paoworth,
Estate is ready to cay the balance of
Tier 2, E.R. Trafford's MaD of Sanford,
on same for the years 1932 thru 1979,
Executrix of the M.F.Robinson
taxes against the S. 24 ft. of Lot 12, Block 3
and has requested that s ts~ credit be allowed
in accordance with the agreement authorized by
the City Commission at the meeting of January Mo,1941.
Thereuoon on motion duly carried, the Clerk was authorized and directed to issue
the M.F.Robinson Estate ta~ recelots for years 1932 thru 1939 against the Sou. 74 ft.
of Lot 12, Block 3 Tier ?, E.R. Trafford's Mac of Sanford, in accordance with the
agreement authorized at the meeting of January ~O,1941, orovlded the subsequent years
ta~es are osid at the same time.
Request next received from Chief of Police Williams for the ourchsse of two large
electric fens for the Po]ice Station and City Jail, and on motion duly carried,
same was authorized.
Oonsi(]eratlon next given to the matter of discontinuing the use of the ~u~icioal
Golf Course truck for hauling the colored emoloyees to and from the golf c~urse, in
view of the fact that the City is unable to secure tires for this outdoes under the
orovisions of the National Rubber Rationing Board.
Thereuoon the Clerk was instructed to discontinue the use of the Golf ~ourse truck
for this ouroose, effective Au~ast 1,1942, and also instructed to assist the aforesaid
emoloyees in the ourchase of bicycles for transoortlng them to and from work.
Request next received from the State Welfare Board for the City to oay one-half
of the rental on two additional office rooms in the Melsch ~uil~ng for use by their
local office, advls~ng thrt the Count? had agreed to oay one-half of the rent, Which
will amount to $2a.~O oar month.
Thereuoon on motion duly adooted, th~ Commission authorized an additional exoendi-
ture of $10.OO oar month for oayment of one-half of rental on local office rooms for
the State Welfare Boar~.
Insoector Duncan next reoorted that a orlvate garage build!ng located on Lot 10,
Block 11 'ier 2, E.R.Trsfford's Mao of Sanford is in s dilaoldated and unsafe condition.
Thereuoon the Clerk was instructed to notify the owner of the aforesaid orooerty
to make such reoairs as are necessary to claes this bu~l~Ing in a safe condition
and to inform ~lm that in the event of his failure to do so the City will condemn and
remove the buildlng.
On the request of Chief of Police Williams the Commission next authorized the
emoloyment of George Haskins as sn extra ooliceman durlnE emergencies only, at a
salary of $3.00 oer day.

were next received, and on motion duly carried, same were aooroved;
