Meetlng called to order by the Chalrmsn. Aoolication next received from Addle Williams for transfer of license to sell recommends- Request next recelw~d from W.S.Hand, owner of the orooerty located at south- west corner of Ms,nolle Ave. and Second, St., for the City to chsnse the oarkin~ regu- lations on south side of Second Street from alley east to Ms,nolle Ave., from oarsllel to dia~onal oark!ng. Thereuoon after careful consideration, the Commission authorized this change to be made in the oarklng regulations st the aforesaid location, orovlded Mr. Hand will install some tyoe of curb between the sidewalk and street so as to keeo motor vehicles from oarking on the sidewalk. Aoolicstlon next received from J.E.Terwi!liger for tax exemotton to the value of $500.00 on his oersonal orooerty located at 209 Elm Ave. and 709 Oak Ave., for years l~31 ,1933/38, 1~40 and 1941 under the orovlstons of Section 9 Article 1X as Amended, State Constitution, he t~aving since filed sworn affidavit that he was disabled by misfortune during those years. Thereuoon, on advice of the City Attorney that Mr. Terwi!llger was entitled to tax exemotion to the value of $500.00 on his oersonal orooerty for the aforesaid years, under the orovisions of Section 9, Article IX, as Amended, State Constitution, ~rovided he had mass aoollcation for such exemotion at the orooer time, Commissioner Gut moved that the exemotion be allowed and the Clerk authorized to cancel all taxes to the value of $500.00 assessed against the oersonal orooerty of J.E.Te~llliger for the years 1931,1933/3~, 1940 and 1941. Seconded by Commiss~oner Bishoo and carried. The Clerk next reoorted that under the orovlsions of Ordinance No.166, a~l dog owners are required to cay an annual license tax of $1.25 for each dog and have them vaccinated against rabies by a ve~erlnarian to be designated by the City Commission, the veterinarian to be oaid for his services out of the funds received from the license tax. Thereuoon the Commission ordered ell requirements of sald Ordinance No 166 enforced, and designated C.W.Baker, veterinarian to do the vaccinating. ~ommunications ne~t read from Mr. Gus Schmah, 0hairman Picnic Committee of the Recreation Deoartment of the Seminole County Defense Council, and the Ssnford MIN UTES CiTY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, July 27 at 7: 0 P M 19 42 in Sanford, local residents who nave no means of transoortatlon for going out of the City on picnics, and tourists traveling through Sanford. Thereuoon after considerable discussion as to a suitable location for such a olcnic ground, 5uot. The Clerk next reoorted recetot of Deed from Trustees of Internal Imorove- ment Fund of State of Florida to s!l of Block 15 A.BjRueeel]'s Addlltion to Fort Reed, vurchased by the City at a cost of $15~.50~ thls oronerty having been acquired by the City for the ouroose of estsb!Ish~n~ a trailer and tent camo to accomodate workers employed at the Naval O~eratlona! Trslnlng Base located on Sanford's Air~ort. Communication next read from U.C.Satrher, complaint a~a%nst the ~nsanitary condltion of the adjoining his home and owned by Frank B.Adams. Matter referred to Insgect0r Duncan. Masers V.A.S~%eer and Gao A.Sneer Jr, next 201~ ¥~. l~th St. registering a do~ yen !oc~ted on the lot aooeared before the :!oard and requested an adjustment of the assessed valuation in amount of $5,OOO.O0 for years 19~9,19~O and 1941 sgalnst the ~ersonal vrooerty of Geo. A.Sveer & Sons Store located at 11~ E.Flrst St., claiming that this assessment Is too high in ~ro~ortion t o the assessments vlaced on other merclmnts. ThereuDon after comoarison of this assessment with the assessed valuation of other merchants havln~ similar stock and fi×tures, Commissioner Hlgg%ns moved that the oersonal tax assa~.~fentsa~alnst Gao A~S~eer & Son's Store be adjusted to $2,500.00 for years 1939,19~0, and Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried unanimously. On motion duly carried, the Mayor next avvolnted Chief of Police R.G.~llllams as Communlcstlon Officer and C.R.Dawson as Radio Aide for the City of 5anford, Florida.
