Meeting called to order by the Mr. L.K.Session: ne~t appeared Wilson Williams Chairman. before the Florida, met in regular session at o'clock P.M. September 28,1942. Bm rd and requested to purchase Lot 10 Block 7, Tier 2, E R Trafford's Mac of Sanford, at a price of $406.44, which is the amount of the City's liens against this property under the adjusted basis, plus fore- closure costs, payable $25.00 on October let, 1942, $25.00 on November l, 1942 and balance $10.00 monthly plus 75 percent of the monthly rental collected from the property during the term of the contract. Mr Sessions hsvtng owned th~s property before the City acquired it thru foreclosure of taxes and special assessment liens. Thereupon after careful consideration , and on motion duly carried, the Commission authorized the sale of the aforesaid property to Mr Session at anrice of $406.44, subject to City taxes for year 1942 and all unpaid State and County taxes,payable $25.00 on October 1,1942, $25.00 on November 1,1942, and balance $10.O~ monthly plus 75 percent of monthly ran1 received from the property, with interest at 8% on the unpaid balance, plus an additional payment of $2.00 monthly to the City to apply toward payment of current City taxes. Application next received from H.A.Haynes to purchase an old two story frame building l~ated on Lot 5 Block 9 Tier l, at a price of $175.OO, and an old two s%ory frame building l~ated on Lot ? Block ? Tier 'JC, at a price of $30.00, and also to purchase a frame garage building located on Lot 9 Block 13 Tier A, at a price of $30.00 said buildings to be demolished and removed from premises. This property having been acquired by the City thru foreclosure of ia×es and special assessment liens. Thereupon after careful consideration, the Commission authorized the sale to H.A. Haynes of the old two story frame building located on Lot 5 Block 9 Tier l, at a price of $175.O0 , and the old One story frame dwelling located on Lot 7 Block 7 Tier C, at a price of $30.00, and rejected the offer of $30.Oo for the garage building located on Lot 9 Block 13 Tier A. Application next received from J.W.Jarrell for permit to sell beer and wines at 1301W. 13th Street, and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, same was approved. Application next received from Young Men's Improvement Society for permit to sell beer and wines st 300 Sanford Avenue, and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, same was aDproved. In accordance with regulations governing the holding of Primary Elections, and on motion of Commissioner Higgins, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried, the Mayor was authorized to issue an election proclamation calling a Primary Election to be held on November 3,1942, for the purpose of selecting two nominees for ~he position of sl MINUTES CiTY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, September 28 at 7:30 P M19 the following being designated as Clerk and Inspectors of said election: For Clerk: E.F.Lane For'Inspectors: Mrs Margaret F.Barnes, Mrs F.E.Roumlllat and Mr. J.H.Beck. On motion duly adopted the Clerk was ne~t authorized to obtain bids for renewal of subscriptions for one year to 49 mage~.1, nes and periodicals for the Sanford Public Library. Inspector Duncan next re-ported that the frame dwelling house located on Lot lO Block lb Tier 5, E R Trafford'e Mac, was partly destroyed by fire several months ago and ie in a dilapidated and hazardous condition, and recommended thet same be condemned and demolished. Thereupon City Attorney Wilson was directed to prepare a resolution condemning the aforesaid building, for passage by the City Commission at the next regular meeting. Application newt received from Derry McGill to purchase Lot 64 Florida Land & Colo. Co. Addition to Sou. Sanford, at a price of $2?5.00, nayable $100.O0 cash and balance $20.00 monthly. This property having been acquired by the City thru foreclosure of tax liens. Thereupon after careful consideration Commissioner Gut moved the sale of the aforesaid property to Derry McGill at a price of $P75.OO , subject to ~lty ta~es for year 1962, and all unpaid State and ~ounty taxes, payable $100.00 cash and balance $20.00 monthly, with interest at $~ on the unpaid balance. Seconded by Commissioner Bishop and carried. the ommis~ion next authorized the sale of Lot 3~ Holden On motion duly carried, C Seal Estate Co. Addition to Beatrice and Edward Gore at a price of $250.00, subject to City taxes for year 1962 and all unpaid State and County taxes, this property having he, acquired by the City thru foreclosure of tax liens. On motion duly carried, the Commission next euthorized the following sales to the original owners, of properties acquired by the City thru foreclosure of taxes and/or special assessment liens, at orlces representing the amount of ~ity s liens against said properties, under the adjusted basis If aoollcable, plus foreclosure costs, subject to City taxes for year 1942 and all unoald State and County taxes. Chief of Police Williams next renorted that Carl E.Wtlllams had tendered his resig- nation as oollce patrolman, effective September 22,1952, and on motion duly carried, the Chief was authorized to employ someone to fill the vacancy.
