Current invoices and payrolls for the month of September 1942, Drooerly audited and vouchered as evidenced by voucher No~; 5017 thru 5095, submitted, e×smined, approved and payment authorized. Monthly reports of Streets, S~nitation, Water, Police,Fare and Golf Departments for the month of Seotember 194~, submitted and examined. Financial statement and statement of revenues and ex~enditures during the month of Sentemb~r 1942, submit~ed end e×em~ned. The following applications were next received for ~ermit to sell beer end wines, and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, same were eporoved: /Joe ~oss at 215 E.First St., Louis Coates Perides at 1104 W. 13th St,; and Robert Atkins et 1207 Olive Ave. The Clerk next presented for further consideration the bid of R.A. Williams in amount of $600.00 received at the meeting of Seotember 15th. for the purchase of S 1/2 of Lot 11 Block 5 Tier 2, E.R. Trsfford's Map, subject to 1952 City taxes and ell unpaid State and '~ounty ts~es, sdvislng that the extension of time grsnte~ the orlginsl owner in whlch to purchase the a%resald property had ezntred. This oronerty having been acquired by the City thru foreclosure of te~ liens. Thereuoon Commissioner Higgins moved the acceotence of the bid of R.A.W!llisms in amount of $600.00 for the purchase of the S 1/2 of Lot 1! Block 5 Tier 2, subject to City taxes for year 1942 and all unoeid State and County taxes. Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. In connection with acquiring a site for the orooosed water booster ~umping station to be constructed in the main from ~he wells , ihs Clerk next advised that Mrs. Rosa V. Sirmons had agreed to sell the City a 5O' X 125' lot adjoining the State Road right-of-way for this ouroose, at e ~rice of $75.00, or0vided the City will convey to her the 12 ft. strip of land the C~ty owns for oloe line right-of-way ourooses and extending thru her property. Thereupon after careful consideration,and in view of the fact that by acquiring the' 50' X 125'° lot from Mrs. Sirmons the City wi!l still h~ve sufficient right-of-way for a oioe line from the water main to Lake Ada, Commls~loner H~gglns moved the City eccept Mrs Sirmons' proposition and the Clerk be eu~horized to secure an potion for 60 days in MINUTES CiTY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA- Oqtober !2, 42 229 Commissioner Higglns next introduced Resolution No. 6~7, and after being read in full by the Clerk , moved its passage and adoption. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA , REQUIRING THAT CERTAIN DILAPIDATED, UNSANITARY AND UNSAFE BUILDING OR STRUCTURE LOCATED ON LOT 1~ Block 1~ of TIER 5 OF E.R. TRAFFORD'S MAP OF SANFOLD, FLORIDA, TO BE PUT IN A STATE OF SOUND REPAIR OR DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED. WHEREAS, the Build%ng Insoector of the City of benford, has reoorted to the City Commission of said City that there is located on L~ 10 of ~lock 1~ of Tier 5 of E R Trafford's MaD of Sanford, Florida, a dilapidated, unsanitary and unsafe building which should be out in a state of sound repair or demolished and removed; and the City Commission finds that said building is dilapidated,unsanitary and unsafe and should be out in a state of sound repair or demolished and removed. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of 'anford, Florida, that that certain building ~r structure located on Lot l0 of Block 14 of Tier 5 of E R. Trafford's MaD of Sanford, Florida, be out ~n a state of sound repair or demolished and removed, or cause shown why the City Commission at 7:30 O'clock P.M. in said City. Deor Commissioners:- About a year ago. the City of Sanford mode an application to this honk for'a line of credit of $10,OOO..~, of which $5,0OO.OO was to be used immediately. This request was booed on authority from an Act of the Legislature of 1941 givin~ the City authority to borrow money for municipal purposes, not to exceed $~O,OO~.OO. ' ' This Institution 5id not particioate in this loan and it is my understanding that this loon has been placed somewhere outside the City of Sanford. This letter is to odvise that we should be business at this time, and we will extend the City a line of to be used for municioal purooses. glad to handle this credit of $10,OOO.OO We believe that the tax money of the City of Sanford should be in the City's Banking Institutions and without going into details of why we did n~ participate in this loan before, we want to assure you that in the future, it will be our policy to cooperate in every way with the City for the handling of your financial municipal oroblems. CHM:~ Yours very truly, C.H,McNulty, President. 232, MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,0p, t~h~ 19 Thereupon after conalderable discussion, Commissioner Hlgglns moved that the Clerk be authorized, and directed to transfer to the Ordinary Fund Account at the Florida State Bank of Ssnford funds in amount of $5,000.00 on deposit at the First State Bank of DeLand, Florida, end that City Attorney Wilson ~e dlrected to prepare a resolution aut~orlzlng the oayment to the First State Bank of DeLand the sum of $2500.00 for balance due on loan from eeid bank, and authorizing the borrowing of a like amount from the Fl~ida State Bank of Sanford for the purpose of paying such loan. Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. Communication next read from Strlckland Motors, Inc. offering to sell the City one Second-hand 1942 Model Deluxe ?ardor Sedan Automobile at a price of $995.00 Offer declined. Insoector Duncan ne×t reooted that the east wall of the old burned brick garage b u llding located on Lots 9,10, ~1 an~ 32 of Block M, First Street Extension, is in a dangerous condition es it is liable to co!lapse most any time. Thereuoon the Clerk was instructed to notify the owner of the aforesaid orooerty that unless some immed'tate die,pelt!on Is made of this building the Commission will be forced to have some condemned and demolished. The Clerk was next instructed to notify the St. Johns ~iver L~ne Comoeny to imme- dietely taxi'se and dispose of the old sunken boat in Lake Monroe at foot of Hood Avenue, otherwise the Commission will be forced to have it condemned end removed. On motion of Co~nmissloner Hi~gins, seconded by Co~lssioner Gut and carried, the Commission next euthorlzed the salary of Fire ~hlef Cleveland increased to 180.O0 Der month, effective as of October 1,1942.
