Commissioner Gut next introduced Ordinance No. 330 , entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANMORD, FLORIDA, AMENDIEG SECTION 9 OF ORDINANCE N0.256 OF SAID CITY, REGULATING THE ~ANUFACTURE, DISfRIBUTION AND SALE IN SAID CITY CERTAIN BEVERAGES, PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 2Sth. DAY OF JUNE, 1937, SAID SECTION 9 FORBIDDING THE SALE OF INTOXICATING LIQUORS, BESIDES BEER AND WINES, BETWEEN CERTAIN HOURS~ AND ON CERTAIN DAYS: FORBIDDING SALE, GIFT OR SERVICE 0~' INTOXICATING LIQUORS, BEER OH WINES, TO P£RSONS UNDER T~ENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE OR TO ANY HABITUAL DRUNKARD OR TO ANY PERSON WHO IS INTOXICATED. and same was read in full by the Clerk. At this ~ime e group of citizens with Rev. Joe Tolle ss spokesman, appeared ~nd requested that the aforesaid ordinance be emen~ed so es to prohibit the sale of intoxi- cating beverages after 10:30 P.M. instead of ll:30 P.M. and else to prohiOit the sale beer and wines on Sundays. Thereupon ~fter considerable discussion, Commissioner Gut moved that Orcinsnee No. 330 ~e placed on i~s ~irst reading. Seconded by Commissioner Higgins end carried unanimously. Application next received from K.C.Teylor for permi~ to operate a taxicab in the City of oan~ord, end on recommendation o~ Chie~ of Police Williams same wes approved. Allen Stewart next tendered his resignation es manager of the Municipal Golf Course, effective DecemOer 15,1942, and same wes accepted. A~plication next received from Mrs MoJ.Morrie for homestead exemption for year 19~2 on Lo~ 5 Block 3 Tier 7, E.R.Traf~ord's Map, application for such exemption at the proper time having been neglected thru an oversight. Application approved. In response to the request of A C Madden, presented st the meeting of November 9th. that ~rs Dan Key be allowed homestead exemption for year 19~2 on Lot 6 Block 9 Tier 2, E R Trafford's Map, City Attorney Wilson next advised the Commission that he hsd investigated the matter, end it is his opinion that Mrs Key wes not entitled to the benefits of such exemption es provided for in Section y of Article X, of the State Constitution. On motion duly carried, the Commission next authorized access by the Clerk end City Attorney to safety deposit box No. l?? at the Ssnford Atlantic Nationel Bank MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,, November ),7:30 ? u 19 42 to all gas mains throughout the City, which necessitates digging up sidewalks , driveways and pavement in several streets. Thereupon after considerable discussion, the Commission ordered no further permits be granted the Sanford Gas Company to dig up paved streets, sidewalks or driveways for the purpose of repairing gas mains until said Company submits to the Commission detail application showing the locations of the proposed mains to be repaired , for their consideration. On recommendation of Supt. Moughton, and on motion duly carried, the Commission next authorized the salary of C.P.Henderson, caretaker of the Municipal Cemetery, increased from $20.00 to $21.15 per week. On motion duly carried, the Clerk was next authorized to attend the Convention of the Florida League of Municipalities to be held in Jacksonville on December 9-10 the expenses in connection therewith to be borne by the 'City. City Attorney Wilson next presented Master's Deed dated ~ovemOer 23, 1942, to the following described property acquired by the City thru foreclosure of tax liens st sale of November 2, 19~2: Lots 12 and 13 of Block J, First Street Ex%ension. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Higgins and carried, the Commission next authorized the following sales of properties acquired by the City thru foreclosure of taxes and/or special assessment liens, subject to 1942 City taxes and all unpaid State and County taxes: Lottie Swayne ; Beg. at S W Cot of Lot 26, Robinson Survey , run Ft. W. 117 ft. S. 50 ft. to Beg., at a price of $350.00. Buster Barton : Beg at S E Cot of Block ll Tier 18, run N 132 ft W. 51 ft S. 132 ft E. 51 ft to Beg., at s price of $450.00 Emma Miller - Lot 9 Block 12 Tier C, at s price of $75.00.
