Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of regular meetings of January 8, 22, adjourned meeting of January 25, regular meeting of February 12 and adjourned meeting of February 14, 1945 next~ read and a'DDroved. Current invoices and oayro!ls for the month of February 1945, orooerly audited and vouchered as evidenced by voucher nos. 1628 thru ??i3 submitted, examined, aeoroved and oayment authorized. Monthly reoorts of Streets, Sanitation, Health, Water, Police, Fire, Library, and Golf Departments for the month of February 1945, submitted and examined. Financial statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during the month of February 1945, sumitted and examined. Bank statements in all accounts for the month of February 1945, properly reconciled, suDmltted and examined. Ao~lication next received from Alitha Smith. for permit to sell beer and wines aZ 1400 W. 13th St., and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams same was aooroved. Aoplication next received from R.L. Caldwell for permit to transolant an oak tree on the 9arkway in f,Font of his home at 507 Magnolia Ave., and on recommendation of Supt. Moughton, same was aD,roved. Petition nex~ ~resented, signed by fourteen residents within the vicinity of Elm Ave. and Eighteenth St., registering a protest against the school farming the property east of FrenCh Ave. across from the high school, claiming that the sand arising from the operations during the culti?ation period, and the growth of rag weeds on this property afterwards creates a nuisance to the neighborho~d,.and same was referred to the Board of Public Instruction. Report of March analysis of milk from all dairies operating in Sanford as prepared by Dr. L.R. Scribner's LaDoratories at Orlando, next submitted, such report showing all such milk within the requirements of Grade #A" Milk, except raw milk from the Green Valley Dairy and ~as~eurized milkd frOm Seencer-Hardln Dairy. Engineer Earle next sumitted a detailed report of the estimated work completed as of March 1, 194~, by W.H. Armston Company Inc. in ~erformance of contract dated January ~, 1945 for grading, draining and paving 15th St., Olive}'~Ave, Tenth St. and Pecan Ave, Of which the total amounted to the sum of $21,2~4.~6, less lO,er cent to be retained by City until work is ¢omDl~ ~lus force account work in amount of $??0.4!, cover~.ng installation of ~athh basins, manholes, etc. leaving a total amount of $19,SS1.42 due them for work comDleted on sa~d contract. On motion duly carried, the Commission next aooroved the emoloyment of Mrs Leila Clark as an assistant in the Clerk's office at a salary of $110.O0 per month to fill the vacanCy created by resignation of Mrs Marian Brumback. On motion of Commissioner Bishop, seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried, the Commission next authorized the oayment of exoenses of Insoector Duncan in connection with attending the instruction course for Dairy Insoectors at the University of Florida on March 12-16, sponsored by the State Agricultural Department. ~equest next received from Katie Reddick, colored, to be allowed widow's MINUTES CITY COMMISSION,. Request next received from the Seminole Highv~ School Athletic Association for the City to contribute the amount of $40.00 oaid by them for City license for the Blue Grass Boys to conduCta vaudeville show at the High School on February 20, which was soonsored by them in order to raise funds for oayment of medical and. hosoital exoenses incurred during last football season. Thereupon after careful consideration, Commissioner Hilll moved that the City donate to the Seminole High School Athletic Association the sum of $$0.00 oaid the City for the aforesaid license.
