The City COmmission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P-M. Aorll 9,1945.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Ourrent invoices and oayrolls for the month of March 19~5,orooerly audited and
vouchered as evidenced by voucher Nos. 7714 thru 7820, submitted, examined, a0oroved and
payment authori zed.
Monthly records of Streets, Sanitation, Health, Water, Police, Fire, Library and
Golf Deoartments for month of March 1945, submitted and examined.
Financial statement and statement of revenues and exoendltures during month of
March 1945, submitted and examined.
Bank statements in all accounts for the month of March 1955, Orooerly reconciled
submitted and examined.
Mr. ~.B.Ellerbe and Mr.T.A.Vaughan next aooeared on behalf of the Outboard Motor
Association and submitted orooosed ~olans ~ a concrete ramo for launching small water
craft, which ~hey requested the City to construct In Lake Monroe in front of Fort Mellon
Park.
Thereupon after considerable discussion, final action was deferred, oendt, ng further
information as to the estimated cost of constructing the orooosed ram~.
Bill of Howard H.Roth & Company, Tnc. in amount of $1~0'00 for 45 hours service
during week ending April ? in removing broken limbs from trees on Oarkways, next
oresen~ed, and on motion duly adopted, same was aoproved and oayment authorized.
On motion duly carried, the Commission next authorized the salary of fireman
H.S.Whltworth increased from $120.O0 to 125.OO per month, effective as of Aoril 1,1945.

AND REGULATING THEIR CONSTRUCTION AMD REGULATING THE SLAUGHTER, HANDLING AND DISPOSITION
OF MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS WITHIN THz CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA: PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF A CITY MEAT INSPECTOR AND INSPECTIONS OF MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS AND
PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION 0~' THE P~OViSIONS OF THIS OEDINANCE.
introduced and olaced on its first reading at the regular meeting of the City
Commission of March 26,1945, was next olaced on %ts final reading and read in full by
the Clerk.

AND REGULATING THEIR CONSTRUCTION AND REGULATING THE SLAUGHTER, HANDLING AND DISPOSITION OF
MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS WITHIN THE CITx OF SANFORD, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF A CITY MEAT INSPECTOR AND INSPECTIONS OF MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS AND PROv!DI!J!G PENALTIES
FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS OHDINANCE.
On motion duly adopted Ordinance No. 374 was next ordered POSTED at the front door
of the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, in accordance with the terms of the
Charter, as amended.
Commissioner Gut next moved that the Clerk be authorized and directed to have
100 cooles of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 374 mimeographed for dlstribU~i~n among the
meat producers and meat markets.
Seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried.
Commissioner Hill next moved that Dr. Raymond L.Bass, Veterinarian , be anoolnted
as City Meat Insoector, his compensation to be fixed at a later date.
Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried.
Commissioner Gut next introduced Resolution No. 6~? and after being read in full
by ~he Clerk, moved its Oassage and adootlon.

A P~SOLUTION OF THE C!T~ COMMISSION OF THE CITY OM SANFORD, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING
OPPOSITION TO HOUSE BILL NO. 38, RELATinG TO LENGTH OF WORK ~EK ?OH
WHEREAS, House Bill No. 38, entitled, "An Act.Providing for a Seventy.two Hour~
167.63
Week for Firemen, and Regealing Chapters !67.62/Florida Statutes 1941 and any and all
Other Laws or Parts of Laws in C6nf!ict Herewith" has been introduced into the Legis-
lature of the State of FlOrida at its oresent session and after'consideration of said
proposed law, the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida is of the o~inion that
such prooosed law would be unwise and not for the best interests of the muntcioalities
of the State of Florida emoloying fire deoartments:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Commission of the City of ~anford,
Florida, is o~oosed to the caBBage of said House Bill No. 3~ and requests our Senator
and Representatives to oopose the passage of such bill.
~E IT FURTHER RESOLVED tha~ a cody of this resolution be sent to Honorable Lloyd F.Bo
State Senator, and, Honorabl~M.B.Smith and L.B.Mann, Reoresentatives.
