The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned regular meeting at theCity Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P N. November 13, 1945. J. Lodge City Clerk H.N. Sayer. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Current invoices and payrolls for the month of October, 1945, properly audited and vouchered as evidenced by voucher nos. 8356 thru 8451, submitted , examined, approved and payment authorized. Monthly reports of S'treets, Sanitation, Health, Water, Police, Fire, Library and Golf Departments for month of October 1945, submitted and examined.. Minancial statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during month of October , 1945 submitted and examined. Bank statements in ail accounts for the month of October 1945, properly 'reconciled, submitted and examined. Commissioner Gut next introduced Ordinance No. 387, entitled: ORDINANCE NO. 387. AN ORDINANCE CLOSING,VACATING AND ABONDCNING THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY RUNNING 'NORTH A.ND SOUTH IN BLOCK 2 TIER 9, OF E.R.TBAFFORD'S ~AP OF SANFORD, FLORIDA AND SAME WAS READ "IN FULL BY THE CLERK. Thereupon Commissioner Hill moved that the rules be w~ived and s~.id Ordinance No. 38~ be placed on its final passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Gut. The roll was called and the vote stands as follows: Commissioner Higgins Aye " Gut Aye " Hill Aye Thereupon the Chairman announced that the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, by unanimous vote had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 38?, entitled: ORDINANCE NO, 387 AN ORDINANCE CLOSINGS' VACATING AND ABONDONING THAT CERTAIN PUBLIC ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH IN BLOCK 2, TIER 9 OF E.R.TRA??ORD'S ~AP O? SANFORD, FLORIDA. On motion duly adopted Ordinance No. 387 was next ordter6d POSTED at the front door of the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, in accordance with the terms of th, Charter, as amended. Jerry Jones, colored, next appeared and requested that the road in front of his property - Lot 6 Rand's Addition, be reopened so that he can get into his property, this road having been in use for years, although not dedicated as a public thoroughfare. ~atter taken under advisement, pending investigation. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried, the Commission next authorized the purchase of tke following described property from J.B.Adkins for the sum of $6,000.00, and that in payment thereof, the ~ayor and Clerk were~%horized to execute and deliver unto him on behalf of the City, eleven promissory notes in the principal sum of $500.00 each, payable to J.B.Adkins on or before one, two, three, four, five,six, seven, eight, nine,ten and eleven years after date with interest from date thereof at the rate of five per cent per annum, together with balance of initial payment in sum of $400.O0: Beg. 404 Feet ~Yest of Southwest corner of Block l, of Tier 10, of the Town of Sanford, run East 193 feet, north 283 feet, west 3© feet, north 283 feet, west to railway, southerly on railroad to beginning. Begin 240 feet west of southwest corner of Block 2N of Tier 10, of the Town of Sanford, run West 50 feet, north to Lake, Easterly along lake to point north of beginning, south to beginning, together with riparian rights in Lake Nonroe, saving and excepting from the above property, however, the ninety foot strip across .the same as described in quit claim deed from Zachary Veneer Company to City of Sanford,' Florida, dated Narch l, 1932, and recorded in Deed Book 72,. page 268. On motion of Commissioner Gut, seconded by Commissioner Hill and carried, the Commission next authorized the purchase of the Tollowing described property from W.E. Kirchhoff Jr, for the sum of $7,500.00, and that in payment thereof, the Nayor and Clerk were authorized to execute~ and deliver unto him on behalf of .the City, fourteen promissory notes in the principal sum of $500.00 each, payable to W.E.Kirchhoff,Jr., on or before one, two, three,four,five,six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen and fourteen years after date with interest from date thereof at the rate of five per cent per annum, together with balance of initial payment in sum of $400.00 Beginning 241 feet west and 283 feet north of southwest corner of Block l, of Tier 10, of E.R. Trafford's Nap of Sanford, Florida, according to plat thereof in Plat Book l, pages 56-64 of the public records of Seminole County, Florida, run East 30 feet, South 283 feet, North 250 feet, ~est 7t½ feet, North to Lake Nonroe, ~esterly along Lake l~onroe to point north of beg~ng, south to beginning. (Less a 90 foot strip for State Road No. 3) ~together with riparian rights in Lake Nonroe. There being no further busiBess the meeting then adjourned until 2:00 o'clock P.N. November 16, 1945.
