Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the

Leg is latur ·.
Thereupon after considerable discussion and in view of the fact that the only
property the City and County have available to convey to veterans was acquired thru
foreclosure of tax liens, it was the opinion that neither the City or County could furnisi
abstracts and guarantee title to same, and on motion duly adopted, it was agreed that the
Said property would be con~eyed by deed of bargain and sale in fee simple.
The County Commissioners then advised that the County did not have authority
to reserve any property for the purpose of conveying to veterans but would cOnvey it
upon application from veterans, if the property was still available.
Upon advice of tbs..Clerk that the City has several lots in Magnolia Heights
Subdivision that are available for conveying to veterans, Commissioner Gut next
moved that the City reserve twenty lots in Magnolia Heights for this purpose at
this time, and that' they be not adjacent to each other but every other lot, and to
reserve the adjacent lots thereto for sale to the veterans should they desire to have
two lots for a home site instead of one.
Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried.
Thereupon , on motion duly carried, Lots 56,58,60,64,66,68,?0,75,79,81,92,94
96,98,100,103,105,107,109, andlll of Magnolia Heights were reserved for the purpose of
conveying to Veterans of World War II without cost for the purpose of erecting homes,
conditioned that the dwellings be erected within six months from date of conveyance;
and lots 55,5Y,59,63,65,67,69,74,80,$2,91,93,97,99,102,104,106,108,110 and ll2
