The City Commission of the City of ~anford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall
in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, March 8, 1950, for the purpose of
canvassing the election returns of the Special Referendum Election held March 7, 1950.
Present: Commissioner Andrew Carraway, Mayor.

City Clerk M.N.Sayer
Absent: Commissioner F A Dyson
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
The Clerk then advised that Mrs. ~.E.Roumillat who was aopointed Clerk of the Special
Referendum Election of March 7th was unable to serve because of illness and that ~rs Ralph
Austin Smith, Inspector, was designated as Clerk and ~alcolm G.~acNeill appointed to serve
as Inspector.
Thereupon on motion of Commissioner Stemper, seconded by Commissioner ~rider and carried,
the Commission confirmed the appointment of said election officials
The Commission then proceeded to canvass the returns of the Special Referendum Election of
March ?, 1950, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election as follows:
FOR ...... The City of Sanford constructing a Municipal Memorial Stadium to be
financed by pledge of the ~evenues to be received, therefrpm angst~ bPlegge, of

AGAINST--- The City of Sanford constructing a Municipal Memorial Stadium to ~e financed
by pledge of the revenues to be received therefrom and by pledge of addition-
al funds available to the City other than funds to 0e raised by advalorem

Mutilated Ballots thrown out ......................................................... 5
TOTAL VOTES CAST ............................................................... 1023
Thereupon Commissioner Stemper moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of
the Special Referendum Election held March 7, 1950, be accepted.
Seconded by Commissioner Chase and carried.
Thereupon it was declared that the result of said election shows that a majority of voters
participating in the election voted for the City of Sanford constructing a Municipal
Memorial Stadium
On motion duly adopted, the Commission next authorized oayment at rate of $1.OO per hour
to each of the Inspectors and Clerk of the aforesaid election.
There belng no further business the meeting adjourned.
