The City Commissio~ of %he City of Sanford met in Special Meeting
at the City Hall at 8 P N with the following present:

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Mrs P N. Gingles appeared before the Commission with regards to her letter proposing
to operate a three part recreational program consisting of Swimming Lessons and Tennis
Tournament for the balance of the school vacation period. Commissioner Chase moved,
seconded by Commissioner Stemper, motion carried that $175.00 be appropriated for the
purpose of swimming, and Junior and senior tournament. Expenditure to be under the
supervision of Commissioner Stemper. Commissioner Chase agreed to find a sponsor for the
senior tournament. Mrs Glngles agreed to run a beginners class during the period of
August 7 to 12, and run Junior tennis tournament in the afternoons of August 14 to 20;
to run senior tournament during afternoons of August 27 to September lC, and to act
as individual swimming instructor from August 14 to
Municipal Pool for those desiring instruction.
The second draft of the Resolution authorizing
September 10, available at the
issuance of port terminal bonds
was discussed. Whereupon the Commission agreed to the oall feature as written and agreed
to the requirements that only Federal Reserve Member Banks be depositories for all terminal
funds.
Commissioner Krider moved, Commissioner Dyson seconded, that the City accept the
Resolution subject to RFC approval, upon receipt of which approval, resolution will be
formally offered for adoption by the Commission. Those voting yes,were Commissioners
Carraway, Krlder, Dyson and Stemper. Voting no, was Commissioner Chase. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
