A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA,
APPROPRIATING ANY UNEXPENDED CASH SURPLUS ON HAND AT THE END OF THE
FISCAL YEAR 1951-1952 TO THE DEPARTNENT OF THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT OF
SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1952-1953 FOR USE FOR THE ORDINARY
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
A group consisting of Mr. & Mrs J. N. Robson, Jr., Clyde Ramsey, M. L. Reborn, with
l~lph T. Cowan as spokesman, next appeared and requested the use of the municipal auditorium
two nights a week during the winter season for conduc$ing equare dances, provided they are unable
to find another suitable location. The auditorium now being used only on Friday nights by the
Celery Crate which is sponsored by the Seminole High School P. T. A.
After discussion the Commission advised that if they did not find a suitable place, they
were in favor of them using the auditorium at least two nights a week for square dances, on
nights not conflicting with the Celery Crate's activities, and to contact the P. T. A. relative
to working out a satisfactory schedule.
The Commission then proceeded to a further study and discussion of the proposed budget
of revenues and expenditures for fiscal year 1952-1955.
Commissioner Kadet next moved that the salary of municipal Judge be increased to $150.00
per month, which was placed at $125.00 per month at meeting of August 18. Seconded by Com-
missioner Chase and carried over tl'~ dissenting vote of Commissioners Carraway and Ivey.
Commissioner Carraway then moved that the $125.00 for salary of Judge protem be eliminated
from the budget. Seconded by Commissioner Chase and carried.
Commissioner Carraway next moved that the appropriation of $200.00 for the Salvation
Army be eliminated from the budget, and same died for lack of a second.
Commissioner Carraway next moved that the City discontinue paying a portion of the office
rent for the State Welfare Board, and same died for lack of s second.
Commissioner Ivey next moved that the reserve of $1,500.00 in the Insurance Fund, which
was set up to pay claims under program of self-insurer of employees, be transferred back to the
General Fund, and that the group life insurance coverage on employees be increased to $1,000.00
for each employee. Seconded by Commissioner Chase and carried.
On motion of Commissioner Carraway, seconded by Commieeloner Ivey and carried, the salary
of City Manager was next increased to $7,200.00 per year.
Commissioner Ivey next moved that the Clerk's salary be increased ten per cent. Seconded
by Commieiloner 0base and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Btemper.
After approval of the proposed budget of revenues and expenditures, Commissioner Obese
introduced Resolution No. 811, and after being read in full, moved its oaeeage and adootion.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the
of the operating revenues of said City for the fiscal year 1951-1952, be appropriated
budget for the fiscal year
City of Banford, Florida,
that any unexpended cash surplus as of September 30, 1952, of the operating revenues of said
City for tbs fiscal year 1951-1952 be, and the same is hereby, appropriated to the Department
of General Government of said City for the ordinary Ourpoees and operating expenses of said
City for the fiscal year 1952-1953, and said cash surplus shall be incorporated in the budget of
revenues and expenditures of said City for said fiscal year 1952-1953 for the ordinary purposes
and operating expenses of said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall become effective as of the first day of
October, 1952.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REBOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida,
that said budget as prepared and presented by the City Manager to the City Commission be, and
the same is'hereby, adooted as the budget of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the fiscal year
beginning the first day of October, 1952, and ending the thirtieth day of September, 1953.

Clerk shall allocated from each dollar collected and r eceived the several amounts to the
respective funds or purposes for which the same are hereby authorized and appropriated.
BE IT FURTHER REBOLVED that this resolution shall become effective as of the first day
of October, 1952.
