The City Commission of the City of Sanford, ,Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 P. N. February 28, 1956, for the purpose
of a Public Hearing to consider changes and amendments in certain districts of the Zoning
Ordinance.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that this hearing was called
for the purpose of considering the rezoning of the property as proposed and described in the
following legal "Notice" published in the Sanford Herald on February 15 and 22, 1956:
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED CHANGES AND
AMENDMENTS IN CERTAIN DISTRICTS AND BOUNDARIES OF
THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,FLORIDA.
Notice is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held at the office of the
City Commission in the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.
February 28, 1956, to consider the following changes and amendments to the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Sanford, Florida:
(a)
The property zoned in District R-1 (Single-Family, located on East
side of Myrtle Avenue between 25th Street and Orlando Drive, is pro-
posed to be changed to C-1 (Commercial-Retail) District. Said property
being more particularly described as Lots ~, 5, 6 and 7 of Block l,
Dreamwold Second Section.
(b) The property zoned in District R-1 (Single-Family], located on East
side of Elm Avenue between 25th Street and Orlando Drive, is proposed
to be changed to C-1 (Commercial-Retail) Ristrict. Said property be-
ing Wore particularly d ascribed as Lots l~, ll, and 12 of Block 3,
Dreamwold Second Section.
(c) The property zoned in District R-1 (Single-Family), located on East
side of Laurel Avenue betveen 25th Btreet and Orlando Drive, is pro-
posed. to be changed to C-t (Commercial-Retail) District. Bald property
being more particularly described as Lots 16, 17 and 18 of 'Block 5,
Dreamwold Second Section.
(d)
The property zoned in District R-1 (Single-Family), located between
25th and 26th Streets and bounded on East by Alley between Park and
Magnolia Avenues, and West by Oak Avenue, is proposed to be changed
to C-1 (Commercial-Retail) District. Said property being more par-
ticularly described as All (less N. 250 ft) of unplatted part of North-
east Quarter of Northeast Quarter, of Section l, Township 20 S.,
Range-30 E. ; All (less N 250 ft) of Block D, of Spurling ~eights;
Lots 7, 9 and ll, of Otter's Subdivision; and Lots 205, 20?, 209, 211,
21~, 215, 225, 227, 229, 2~1, 233, 235, 285 to .916 inclusive, of
Frank L. Woodruff s Subdivision.
(e)
The property zoned in District R-1 (Single-Family), located between
6th and 13th Streets and bounded on East by Alley between Laurel and
Elm Avenues, and West by Alley between French and Laurel Avenues, is
proposed to be changed to C-1 (Commercial-Retail) District. Said
property being more particularly described as lots 6 to 10, inclusive,
of Block 8, of Tier ?; Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, of Block 8, of Tier 8;
Lots 6 to 10, inclusive, of Block 9, of Tier 7; Lots 1 to 5, inclusive,
of Block 9, Tier 8; Lots 6 to 10, inclusive, of Block 10, of Tier 7;
Lots 6 to 10, inclusive, of Block 11, of Tier 7; Lots 6 to 10, in-
clusive of Block 12, of Tier 7; Lots 1 to 5, inclusive, of Block 12,
of Tier 8; Lots 6 to 10, inclusive, of Block 13, Tier 7; Lots 1 to 5,
inclusive, of Block 13, of Tier 8; Lots 6 and 7, of Block 14, of Tier
7; and Lots 1 and 2 of ~lock 14, of Tier 8, of E. R. Trafford's Map
of Sanford.
All parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard at said
hearing.
By order of the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, this 14th day of
February, 1956.

The Chairman then announced that the Commission would be glad to hear from anyone in
favor of, or against rezoni~g the property as proposed and described in paragraphs (a) , (b) ,
(c) and (d) of the foregoing notice.
There being no objections registered, Commissioner Higginbotham moved that the property
described in paragraph (a) , (b) , (c) and (d) be rezoned as advertised. Seconded by Commissioner
Rstigsn and carried.
The Chairman next announced that the Commission would. be glad to hear from anyone in
favor of, or against rezoning the property as proposed and described in paragraph (e) of the
foregoing notice.
There being no objections registered, Commissioner Higginbotham moved that the property
described in paragraph (e) be rezoned as advertised, and that the City Attorney prepare the
necessary ordinance for adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Gatchel and carried.
