M. ~9 56 3i The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session at 4:00 o'clock P. M. March 19, 1956: Present: Commissioner F. D. Scott, Nayor " David N. Gatehel " John S. Kr, ider, St. " Jack Ratigan City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Clerk H. N. Sayer City Manager W. E. Know!as , Absent: Commissioner Earl Higginbotham Meeting called to order by the Chairman. John WillJams appeared on behalf of Wellborn Phillips, Jr., and requested the City to vacate the public utility easement across Lots 1 thru 8, and 16 thru 24 of Block 2, Dreamwold Second Section, in order that the entire property be utilized for commercial development. Thereupon after careful consideration, and in view of the aforesaid described property being under one ownership who plans to erect only one commercial building thereon which can be served by all public utilities without the existing easement, Commissioner Ratigan moved that the City Attorney prepare an ordinance to vacate and abandon the publi'.e utility easement across Lots 1 thru 8, and, 16 thru 24, of ~lock 2, Dreamwold Second Section. Seconded by Commissioner Gatchel and carried. Consideration next given to the proposal of Orlando Paving~ompany to resurface the remaining streets the City has under its street surfacing program under a deferred payment plan, while they are resurfacing those authorized under their contract at meeting of February 13, 1956, offering to accept City's note, payable during next fiscal year with interest at rate of 6% per annum. The estimated cost of resurfacing the remainder of streets under the program being $25,060.62. After discussion, it was felt that it would be for~'.the best interest of the City to re- surface all of the streets under the program at this time in order to eliminate the excessive maintenance cost, and on motion of Commissioner Krider, seconded by Commissioner Ratigan and carried, the Commission authorized Orlando Paving Company to proceed with resurfaciv4~ said s~eets under the deferred payment plan as outlined in their proposal~ The streets and estimated cost being as follows:, Mayfair Section Summerlin Avenue Palmetto Avenue - 25th to 26th St. Madera Avenue Hibiscus Court - 20th St. south to Sanford $1~, U9 o. 5~ t~,866.28 1,638.9~ 902.50 3,162.36 TOTAL $ 25,060.62 There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
