The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the
City Hall in the City Of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 7, 1956, forths
purpose of canvassing the Election Returns of the Municipal G6neral Election held November
6, i956.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
The Commission then proceeded to canvas the returns of the Municipal General Election
held on. November 6, 1956, for the purpose of electing t~o City Commissioners for terms of three
years each, commencing on the first Tuesday afb;er the' first Monday in January 1957, and one
for a term expiring December 31, 1957, commencing immediately upon acceptance of office;
said returns as made by the Clerks and Inspectors bei~g~asff, bllows:

Commissioner Krider then moved t~hat the returns of the Clerks and Inspectors of the
Municipal General Election held November 6, 1956, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner
Wilson and carried·
Thereupon Merle Wo Warner and Earl Higginbotham were certified a s the duly elected
City Co.missioners of the City of Sanford, Florida, for three year terms, commencing with the
first Tuesday after the ~st Monday in January 1957, and A. L. Wilson for a term commencing
immediately upon acceptance and expiring December 31, 1957.

On motion of Commissioner Wilson, secooded by Commissioner HiggInbotham and
carried, payment at rate of $1.00 per hour to the Clerks and Inspectors of the aforesaid
election was next authorized.
