Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Oommlesioner Higginbotham then moved the waiver of the requirement of "Written Notice"
of this special called meeting. Seconded by Commissioner Scott and carried unanimously.
Commissioner Gatchel stated that the meeting had been called to consider a ~scal r epcot
received from Mr. Wilson Holt, Goodbody & Company, pertaining to financing the construction of
sewage disposal plant, and to consider plans for ~etlng on July 16, 1957 with Mr. David B. Lee
of the State Board of Health, at his office in Jacksonville.
City Manag~er Knowles also presented a report projecting into the future the results to
financial operation of the utility department from the issuance of additional bonds, with con-
sideration given ~o local factors of operation and needs.
After lengthy consideration and discussion, it was felt ~hat at the present, and in view
of the current bgnd market, the City was not in a favorable position to finance an additional
bond issue, and that those Commissioners who were ai~allable would meet with Mr,. Lee, in Ja
vllle, to show that the 01ty is s till in good faith with its commitment to the State Board of
Health to construct a sewage disposal plant under the Sewage Improvement Program, in accordance
with Resolution No. 830 adopted by the Oommlssion on April 12, 1954.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
