The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P..~. August 19, 1957.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.-
Randall Chase appeared-,on behalf of the General Banford Memorial Library ar~ Museum
Association and submitted a request for the City to appropriate $2,500.00 in the 1957-1958
bUdget for maint enanCe and operation of ~he new Memorial Library, and $5,000.00 per year for
next four years toward completion of the Museum part of the Memorial Building.
After discussion, the request was taken under advisement, pending consideration of the
budget.
The Board next proceeded to a lengthy study and discuesim~Of the p~opcsed budget of
revenues and expenditures for fiscal year 1957-1958, as prepared by the 01ty Manager.
After careful consideration of t he anticipated revenues and appropriations of each
department, the 0ommission approved the Utility Department budget, subject to adoption by
appropriate budget resolution and ordinance, and deferred approval of the General Fund budget,
pending further $tudy and c onsideration.
There being no futher business the meeting adjourned.
