The City Commission of the City of Sanf ord, Florida met in adjourned special ~ssion
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 P. N. on F~bruary 18, 1958.

Meeting called to order by the Chslrman.
The City Manager reported that the City Attorney had notified him that the City did have
an insurable title to the' 55 Acre tract south of the City sold to Odham & Tudor, Inc.
Next order of business being a discussion of the Capital Improvements Program.
John Burton, Arthitect, was present to discuss the enumeration of changes in the Construc-
tion of Civic Center, Fire Station #2 and Swimming Pool, as proposed and adopted under date of
September 24, 1957, reducing the original bid from $382,900.00 to $316,194.00, and to recom-
mend reinstating desirable items back into the construction.
After considerable discussion, moved by Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissions
Wilson and carried, the proceeds from sale of the 55 Acre tract to Odham & Tudor, Inc., in
amou~lt of $27,500.00 be placed in the Capital Improvements Fund and to authorize ~r~hn Burton,
Architect, to prepare change order in amount of $1%875.00 for the following items:
a. Sliding glass doors for recreation wing
b. White spray for roof of auditorium
c. Aluminum sunshades on auditorium
d. Stage curtains and equipment (Public Address)
e. Change toilet partitions to enameled metal
f. Two folding partitions for recreation wing
g. Remainder of kitchen equipment

John Burton, Architect for Lee Brothers Plumbing & Heating Contractors, presented
sketches of the proposed building on French Avenue, outlining the need for the entire 250
feet of frontage in order to obtain railroad siding and storage space ami office-show room
area.
After discussion and in consideration of the proposed construction, moved by Commissioner
'Gatchel, seconded by Commissioner Wilson and' carried, _~o submit a final offer for sale in,he
amount of $13,333.00 for the 250 feet on French Avenue and the entire block 1N, Tier lC.
After consideration, moved by Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner
Gatchel and emrrled, authorizing the Mayor to execute a Mutual Fl~e Fighting Assistance
Agreement with the U. S. Naval Air Station, Sanford, Florida, on approval of the City Attorney.
The Commission reported that the following streets needing repairs had been brought to
their attention and same were referred to the City Manager.
1. Sunken area at 7th Street and Pine Avenue
2. Intersection of San Marcus and Seminole Boulevard.
3. Rosalia Drive - one block east of Sanford Avenue.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
