The City Com.mission of the. City of Sanford, Florida met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida a 2:00 o'clock P. M. on August 14, 1958

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, w.ho announced t.hat Mr. Loomls Leedy,
representative of the firm of Leedy, Wheeler and Alleman, fiscal agents, was present to dis-
cuss the possibility of adding $65,000.00 of revenue certificates to the schedule of the pre-
vious issue under the Florida Power & Light Corporation franchise, such funds to be used to
construct a colored youth recreation building.
Mr. Leedy stated that the revenue from the aforementioned franchise would warrant
an issue of $65,000.00 and possibly ~1~ to $100,000.00 additional bonds over the present
issue, and he would like a 30-day option in which time to place the bonds and work out a
price when the actual amount of issue has been set by the Commission.
The City Manager was then authorized ~o contact the local architects and reques$
oreliminary sketches and estimated costs of a proposed colored youth recreation building.
The City Manager was further authorized to contact the School Board ~o work towards
transferring title to property on which to construct the aforementioned proposed building,
and also title to proper~y on which the City's Goldsboro Swimming Pool is presently located
through a lease agreement with the School Board.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
