The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned regular session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at 8:00 ~'clock P. M. on September 15,1958.

The meeting was called to .order by the Chairman.
The Board then proceeded into a further study and discussion of the proposed budget
of revenues and expenditures for fiscal year 1958-1959.
Commissioner Higginbotham pointed out that the Commission had to determine.between
items deemed desirable and items that were necessary in ar~-'iving at a workable budget.
Commissioner Brown pointed out that anticipated revenues for next fiscal year had
been reduced so as to be in line with actual revenues for the current fiscal period, and
therefore .moved to increase the charges for the installation of water services.
After discussion, moved by Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Wilson
and carried to table action pending further study.
After further consideration, moved by Commissioner Bmo~wn, seconded by Commissioner
Higglnbotham and carried unanimously to im tease the General Government Operating Millage
from 9 mills to ll mills to provide for the ~oposed general operating budget for the fiscal
year beginning October l, 1958, and further to approve the proposed budget as amended sub-
Ject to formal adoption by Resolution and Ordinance.
The City Manager reported that a bronze plaque for the Civic Center would cost
$167.25, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Brown and
carried, same was approved.
After discussion,, moved by Commissioner Higglnbotham, seconded by Commissioner Wilson
and carried, the City Manager was authorized to investigate costs of aluminum letters for sign
at Fire Station No. 2.
On motion of ~ommissioner H~.gginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Gatchel and camried,
current invoices and payrolls next approved, as evidenced by General Fund Sanford Atlantic
National Vouchers Nos..~191, ~192, 3195 thru 5285,'and 3389 thru 3~'16, General Fund Florida
State Bank Vouchers Nos. 1981 thru 2008, Water & Sewer Sanford Atlantic National Bank Vouchers
Nos. 270.thru 275, Public Projects Sanford Atlantic National Bank Vouchers No. ll4,
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
