The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at .the City
Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 5, 1958, for the purpose
of canvassing the Eleetion Returns of the Municipal General Election held November 4, 1958:

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The Commission then proceeded to canvas the returns of the Municipal General Election
held on November 4, 1958, for the purpose of electing a City Commission for a term of three
years commencing on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January 1959; said ~turns
as made by the Clerks and Inspectors being as follows:

Commissioner Higginbotham then moved that the returns of the Clerks and Inspectors of
the Municipal General Election held November 4, 1958 be accepted. Seconded by Commissicner
Wilson and carried.
Thereupon, inasmuch as no candidate received, a majority of the votes cast, therefore
Joe B. Baker and M. L. "Sonny" Raborn, Jr., were declared to be the two candidates receiving
hte largest number of votes and would therefore apoear on the ballot~ at a run-off election
be held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in December, in accordance with the pro-
vision in the City Charter.
On motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried,
payment of $1.00 per hour to %he Clerks and Inspectors of the aforesaid election was next
author i zed.
