120358-Special SessionMINUTES' December 3 at 12:00 Noon City Commission, Sanford, Florida, 453 ---% The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Soecial Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, December 3, 1958; for the .Municioal purpose of canvassing the Election R~turns ~ the Becond/Gener~ Election held on December 2, 1958: Present: Absent: Commissioner Earl Higginbotham, Acting Mayor " R.S. Brown "' D.M. Gatchelli ,6 A.L. Wilson City Clerk H. N. Bayer City Manager W. E. Knowles Deputy Clerk H. N. Tatum, Jr., Commissioner Merle Warner, May~ City Attorney W. C. Hutchison, Jr., Police Chief R. G. Williams The Commission then proceeded to canvas the returns of the Second Municipal General Election held on December 2, 1958, as a run-off of the two candidates receiving the highest vote, but not a majority of votes in the Nunl. cipal General Election of November 4, 1958, for' the purpose of electing one City Commissioner for a term of three years, commencing oh the first TUesday after the first Monday in January, 19~9; said returns made by the Clerks and Inspectors being as follows: FOR CITY COMMISSIONER For Joe B. Baker For N. L. "Sonny" Raborn, Jr. Mutilated Ballot s Thrown Out TOTAL BALLOTS CAST 501 Votes 349 Votes 0 85o Commissioner Wilson then moved that the returns of ~he Clerks and Inspectors of the Second Municipal General Elect'ion held on December 2, 1958 be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Gatchel and carried. Thereupon Joe B. Baker was certified as the duly elected City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida., for a three year term, commencing W~th the first Tuesday aft. er the first Monday in January, 1959. On motion Of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Oatchel and carried, payment of $1.00 per hour to the Clerks and Inspectors ~f the afores-aid election was next authorized.
