MINUTES
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned regular session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. August 31, 1959.

The meeting was ca~1ed to order by the Chairman.
George Steele, 806 Escambia Drive, next appeared to request permit and docking privileges
for a 6-month period for a small excursion boat at the City pier, and on motion of Commissiaer
/
Brown, seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried, the request was approved, upon his com-
pliance with the City Ordinance.
Gen. J. C. Hutchison and Mr. Randall Chase next appeared to request that the sum of
$1,500.00 be included in the proposed budget for the operation of the General Sanford Mem-
orial Library, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Baker
and carried, the request was approved.
Harry Schaffer, painter for the street department, next appeared to request a job
reclassification and same was referred to his department head.
Consideration next given to the proposed budget for 1959-1960 as submitted by the City
Manager.
After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Warner, seconded by Commissioner Brown

and carried, the City Attorney was autborized to prepare an Ordinance amending the pay and
job classification schedule.
After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Brown
and carried, the City Attorney was authorized to prepare an amendment to the dog license
ordinance setting forth that the fee would be set by proper motion by the Commission.
After discussion, moved by Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Brown
and carried, to permit non-residents of the City to participate in the City Recreational
Program upon payment of a fee of $5.00 per person or a maximum of $10.00 per family and on
proper registration with the recreation department.
After consideration and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Higgin~
botham and carried, the charges for attending the City swimming pools were established as
follows:

On motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, the
City Manager was authorized to compile the actual costs of converting the municipal stadium
from a baseball to a football field, and to request the Seminole County School Board to reim-

There being no further business the meeting adjourned on unanimous approval of the Comm-
ission, until 8:00 o'clock P. M. September 3, 1959.
