110459-Special Session /566 I MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, Novembe~ 4 at 12 Noon 1959 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 4, 1959, for the purpose of canvassing the Election Returns of the Municipal General Election held November 3, 1959: Present: Commissioner A. L. Wilson,. Mayor II Joe B. Baker " Robert S. Brown II Earl Higginbotham " Merle Warner City Manager W. E. Knowles < City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr., Absent: Police Chief R. G. Williams City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Commission then proceeded to canvas the returns of the r'1unicipal General Election held on November 3, 1959, for the purpose of electing two City Commissioners for terms of three years each, Commencing on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1960; said returns as made by the Clerks and Inspectors being as follows: FOR CITY COMMISSIONER - GROUP 1 For EARL HIGGINBOTHAM For Charles Morrison For S. WARNER For Bill Roach 899 VOTES 264 " 1 " Commissioner Harner then moved the the returns of the Clerks and Inspectors of the Municipal General Election held November 3, 1959 be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Brown and carried. Thereupon Earl Higginbotham and J. H. Crapps were certified as the duly elected City Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida, for three year terms each, commencing with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January 1960. Earl On motion of Commissioner/Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Robert Brown and carried, payment of $1.00 per hour to the Clerks and Inspectors of the aforesaid election was next authorized.
