The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at
the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on January 22, 1960.
Present: Commissioner Earl Higginbotham, Mayor " Joe B. Baker

" J.H. Crapps
" A.L. Wilson
City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
City Manager W. E. Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Officials of the Florida State Bank appeared to 9ffer fgr sade t9 thee City for
~60,000 approximately two acres of property west of the City jail, obtained from the Atlantic
Coast Line Railroad Company.
After considerable discussion of the desirable uses and future needs for this
property and of the limited funds available for such purchase, moved by Commissioner Wilson
seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried to decline the offer of sale for ~60,000.00,
and to release the Florida State Bank from further obligation to sell to the City.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
