The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned regular session
at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on April 28, 1960.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The City Manager next submitted the following tabulation of bids which were opened
publicly at 2:00 o'clock P. M. April 21, 1960, for furnishing the following equipment in ac-
cordance with the invitation for bids published in the Sanford Herald on April 11, 1960.

After discussion and on recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Brown
moved the acceptance of the bid of M. D. Moody &'Sons, Inc., JaCksonville, Florida, to furnish
one Wayne Model 550 Street Sweeper at the price of $9,543.00, payable $3,200.00 on delivery and'
balance financed on two annual installments..Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried.
After discussion and on recommendation of the City Manager, Commissioner Crapps moved
the acceptance of bid of A. E. Finley Tractor Company, Inc., of Orlando, Florida, for a Leach
Pack Master at a price of $5,067.75; and the truck chassis awarded to Superior GMC Trucks, Inc.,
of Orlando, Florida, for a price of $5,600.00, complete unit to be picked up at Oshkosh, Wisc.,
payable $4,068.00 on delivery and balance financed on two annual installments. Seconded by
Commissioner Brown and carried.
After consideration of the necessity of expanding the City'S water supply to keep
pace with the increasing demand, the City Commission authorized the City Manager to obtain
estimated costs from engineers to make well tests analyses.
Letter next submitted from Ronald W. Perry, Director of Recreation, requesting a
four months leave of absence beginning October, 1960, and recommended hiring a recreation
assistant on a temporary basis at a starting salary of $4200.00 per year, and after censurable
discussion, Commissioner Crapps moved the approval of same.. Seconded by Commissioner Brown
and carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
