M City Commission, Sanford, Florida, 19. 61) The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular sesslon at the City Hall in the Clty of Sanford, Florida at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on December 26, 1960. Present: Absent: Commissioner Earl Higginbotham, Mayor " Joe B. Baker " Robert S. Brown " J.H. Crapps " A.L. Wilson City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. City Attorney Wm] C. Hutchison, Jr. Request next submitted to designate area On West First Street and Riverview Avenue as an area from which to receive petitions for annexation. Ten property owners in said ~ea appeared in protest of annexation and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Cra¢ps and carried, the request was denied. On motion of Commissioner Crapps, seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried, employees were granted salary reclassifications as follows: Police Patrolman Herman Harriett from i?-D ($4,042.00) To 17-E ($4,154.00) Police Patrolman Earl Bourquardez from 17-C($3,928.00) To 17-D($4,042.00) Recommendation next submitted from the Zoning..and Planning Commission to rezone Lots 4, 5 and 6 Park View Subdivision from R-1 (Single-family) District to C-N (Commercial-Neigh- borhood Shopping) District, and on motion o~rCommisSiOner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried, a public hearing was authorized to be held on January 23, 1961, to consider same. After consideration and on motion of.CommisSio~er Baker, seconded by Commissioner Crapp., and carried, the Commission authorized the remova~i of 'Parking meter No.' 249 from space abutting the alley on the northwest corner of Second Street and Park Avenue and to designate said space as "No Parking" area, so as to better facilitate the flow of traffic at the Greyhound Bus Terminal. After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Brown and carried, the Commission authorized a fee of $3.00 for Utility turn-ohs requested by cus- tomers outside of regular work hours, and the employee to be paid ~2.00 for such special call. Said program to be for a six month trial period. After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Brown and carried, the Commission designated 30-minute parking spaces as ~llows: 10 spaces in front of the Court House on the East side of Park Avenue 6 spaces in front of the City Hall on the West side of Park Avenue 4 spaces at the side of the City Hall on the North side of Fulton Street. Request next submitted for two police officers to work in Tallahassee for three days during the Governors inauguration, however, due to other officers being out of the City attend- ing police instructions, moved by Commissioner Baker to deny the request. Seconded by Comm., Brown and carried. Mayor Higginbotham next designated Commissioner A. L. Wilson as acting Mayor for period of January 3/4, ~961, due to his absence from the City There being no further business the meeting adjourned. ATTEST:~
