The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City
Hall in the City of Sanford, ~Florida, at 8:00 P. M. on July 31, 1961.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Consideration first given to the use of City equipment for other than City purposes.
After discussion and on motion of Commissioner McDonald, seconded by Commissioner Wilson
and carried, the Commission authorized release of a statement with regards to the use of City
Equipment.
Commissioner Wilson next introduced Resolution No. 947, and after being read in. full,
moved its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner McDonald and carried by the unanimous
vote of the Commission.
Said Resolution No. 94? being in words and figures as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING, EMPOWERING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION ON
BEHALF OF SAID CITY FOR A FEDERAL GRANT OF FUNDS
FOR SEWAGE TREATMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Sanford, Florida has undertaken the preliminary study and pre-
paration of preliminary plans for sewage and sewage treatment facilities for the City of
Sanford, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sanford is desirous of making application
for a Federal Grant of funds to assist in the construction of such facilities should it be
feasible to undertake the same, and
WHEREAS, in order to avoid possible future delay the City Commission of the City of
Sanford deems it necessary that application for such funds should be made as soon as possible,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida
that the City Manager of said City be, and he is hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to make application on behalf of the City of Sanford for a Federal grant of funds to assist
in the construction of sewage and sewage treatment facilities for the City of Sanford, pur-
suant to the provisions of 33 United States Code sections 466 et. seq.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 31st day of July 1961.
