The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P.~ M. on August 7, 1961.
Present: Commissioner Joe B. Baker, Mayor

Police Chief R. G. Williams
Absent: Cit~ Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Garnet White, President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, next appeared in support of
his.organizations request to increase their appropriation from $2,100.00 to $2,500.00, and
was advised by the Commission that the request would be taken under consideration in the pro-
posed budget.
After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson and carried, the Commission authorized the purchase of safety equipment for City per-
sonnel from the Contingency Account.
Consideration next given to the proposed budget for 1961-62.
On motion of Commissioner Crapps, seconded by Commissioner McDonald and carried, the
meeting was adjourned until 8:00 o'clock P. M. August 10, 1961,
