The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford., Florida, at 12:00 o'clock Noon, November 8, 1961, for the
purpose of canvassing the Election Returns of the Municipal General Election held November ?,
1961.
Present:
Commissioner Joe B. Baker, Mayor

City Manager W. E, Knowles
City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr.
Deputy Clerk Rosa M. Rotundo
Police Chief R.'G. Williams
Absent: City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
The Commission then proceeded to Canvass the returns of the Municipal General
Election held on November 7, 1961, for the purpose of electing one City Commissioner for a
term of three years, commencing on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January, 1962;
said returns as made by the Clerks and Inspectors being as follows:

Commissioner Higginbotham then moved that the returns of the Clerks and Inspectors
of the Municipal General Election held November 7, 1961, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner
Wilson and carried.
Thereupon Joe B. Baker was certified as the duly elected City Commissioner of the
City of Sanford, Florida, for the three year term commencing with the first Tuesday after first
Monday in January, 1962.
On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried,
payment of $1.00 per hour to the Clerks and Inspectors of the aforesaid election was next
authorized.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
