The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Adjourned Special
Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at lO:00 o'clock A.M. on November
22, 1961.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
Consideration next given to a tabulation of bids submitted by the City Manager at
regular meeting of November 13, 1961~ and on motion of commissioner crapps, seconded by Com-
e,missioner Higginbotham and carried, the bid of Strickland-Morrison, Inc., for two Ford Police
cars at a price of $~4,222.20 was approved.
After consideration and discussion Commissioner .McDbnald moved on the acceptance of
the low bid for a compact car of Seminole County ~Stors for furnishing a Dodge Lancer for the
~City Manager at a price of $1,944.07. The motion died for lac~k 0f~ a second. ~
After further discussion Commissioner H~gglng~tham moved on the acceptance of the bid
for a compact_car of Strickland-Morrison for furnishing a Ford Falcon for the City Manager at
a price of $2,020.00 with a stipulation that it would not be used for Police work except in an
emergency. The motion died for lack of second.
After further discussion Commissioner Crapps moved on the acceptance of the bid for
a compact car of Sanford Motor Company, Inc., for furnishing a Studebaker Lark for the City
Manager at a price of $2,018.00. The motion died for lack of a second.
After further discussion Commissioner Higginbotham moved to recind the invitation for
bids for a'compact car for the City Manager and to advertise for a standard size car so that it
can be used as an alternate Police car. Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried.
After discussion and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner
Crapps and carried, the above motion was tabled..
After discussion Commissioner Higginbotham moved on the acceptance of the bid of
Strickland-Morrison, Inc., for furnishing four one-half ton pickup trucks at a price of
$6,540.00. Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and was not carried upon roll call vote as follows:

After further discussion, Commissioner McDonald moved on the acceptance of the low
bid of Sanford Motor Company for furnishing four one-half ton StUdebaker Pickup Trucks at a
price of $5,970.00 and same died for lack of a second.
After further discussion Commissioner Crapps moved on the acceptance of the bid from
Sanford Motor Company for furnishing a Studebaker Lark for $2,018.00 and from Strickland-
Morrison, Inc., for furnishing four 1/2 ton pickup trucks for $6,540.00 and to recind the in-
vitation for bids for a three-quarter ton pickup truck and re-advertize for same in about six
months and same died for lack of a second.
After discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved on the acceptance of the bid of
strickland-Morrison, Inc., for furnishing four one-half ton pickup trucks at a price of
$6,540.00 and to recind all bids on the three-quarter ton truck. Seconded by Commissioner

Wilson and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner McDonald and Commissioner Baker.
After discussion Commissioner Higginbotham moved on the acceptance of the bid of
M. D. Moody & Sons for furnishing a Wayne 550 street sweeper in the amount of $10,189.00.
Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried.
After discussion Commissioner Higginbotham moved on the acceptance of the low bid of
Lleyellyn Machinery Corporation for furnishing a Case tractor with backhoe at a price of
$3,995.00.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
Seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried.
