021962-Special Session MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, February 19 at 8:00 P.M. The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P.M, on February 19, 1962. Present: Commissioner J. H. Williams The meeting was called to order by the Chairman who announced that the meeting had been called to further consider the proposed water improvements and the proposed uses of the old county jail building, Wm. Leffler and Wm. Bush of the firm of Leffler and Bush and Dr. Dietz and Mr. Clark of the firm of Clark, Daily and Dietz, engineers for the proposed water and sewer improvements, appeared to review their report submitted at an earlier date. Dr. Dietz explained the water demand at present and the estimated future de~:ands and compared the quality of the water from the present well field with the quality of the water from the proposed Golf Course well field. Dr. Dietz further pointed out the disadvantages of expanding the present well field and water plant, and the advantages of treatment and dis- tribution from the Golf Course location, and recommended that the Commission consider the expenditure of any funds be allocated to the Golf Course site for a well field~;:and treatment plant and same was taken under consideration by the Commission. Consideration next given to the old county Jail building on Fulton Street, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried, the City Manager and Police Chief were authorized to prepare complete plans, specifications and costs of the proposed utilization of said building by the Police Department. Commissioner Baker next moved on the waiver of the requirement of 24 hours written notice and to take up any business that may come before the Commission.
