082862 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, August 28 1~2 The City Commission o£ the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special meeting at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock 2. M., August 28, 1962. Zresent: Commissioner J. H. Crapps, Mayor " Joe B. Baker " Earl Higginbotham " Thomas S. McDonald. " A.L. Wilson City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tam~, Jr. Police Chief R. G. Williams The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. On motion of Commissioner McDonald, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, use of the Memorial Stadium was offered to the Seminole County Board of Public Instruction for an annual lease in the amount of ~2,500.00, for the regular football games as now scheduled by local schools. ~aid lease to be in lieu of the charge of an admission tax but not to include the expense of any field conversion, police protection nor special grounds keeper services. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Baker and. carried, the preliminary General Government Budget for year 1962-63 was approved. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Baker and carried, the sum of $9,668.00 in the Contingency Account for the proposed repurchase from Lee Brothers of Lots 1 ~hrough 5, Block 1, Tier 9, E. R. Trafford's, was proposed for the reconstruction of W 13th Street, in the event the repurchase was not consummated. However, in the event that the repurchase is completed, then said property would be offered, for sale and the proceeds of the sale would be used for the above street project. On motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and carried, the preliminary Utility Budget for the year 1962-63 was approved. On motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner McDonald and carried, the City Attorney was authorized to prepare an ordinance vacating and closing Tamarind Avenue from First Street to Second Street in accordance with public hearing held on June 25, 1962. Request next submitted to amend. Section ~-2 of the City Code pertaining to the sale of alcoholic beverages by a hotel of "100 or more rooms", to be amended to read "60 or more rooms" and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner McDonald and carried, same was tabled for further consideration. Seminole Park MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, August 28, 1962 After discussion of each of the aforesaid reports, Nos. 62-28 through 62-45 and finding each building to be considered unsanitary, unsafe or delapidated, Com- missioner Baker moved to hold a public hearing on September 24, 1962, to condemn same, and authorized a Notice to be placed upon each structure, and directed, by registered mail to the last known address as shown by the tax assessment rolls of the City,.a notice to the owner of the property involved of the findings of the Commission and of the proposed public hearing.
