112962 MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida, November 29, at 2 ? M .19~62 The City Commission of the City of San£ord, Florida, met in special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford~ Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. November 29, 1962. Present: Commissioner J. H. Crapps~ Mayor " Joe B. Baker " Earl Higginbotham " Thomas S. McDonald A.L. Wilson City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr, City Manager W. E, Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Deputy Clerk Rosa H. Rotundo Absent: Police Chief R. G. Williams The first order of business was the consideration of a request from the Hunt Company for an extension of the water and sewer lines along Sanford Avenue £rom the front property line to the rear line of their building site. The City Manager submitted an estimated total material cost for the proposed extension of $4,008.85; $2,303.60 for sewer and ~1,?05.25 for water. Commissioner Baker stated he felt the City had met the intent of the original agreement for the water and sewer lines and that any further expense of extensions should be paid by the Hunt Company. After considerable discussion, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to authorize the extension, with the Hunt Company to pay for the sewer materials and furnish the face brick for the li£t station, an~ the City to provide the water materials and make the installation. -! Seconded by Commissioner Wilson and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Baker. Commissioner Higginb~tham moved to authorize the purchase of the aforesaid materials on an emergency basis in accordance with the bid awarded at regular meeting of October 22, 1962. Seconded by Commissioner McDonald and carried. The City Manager next submitted an estimate of ~3,961.10 to replace the overhead Christmas lights and same was forwarded to the Merchant's Association for their considSrat~ion. Consideration next given to the specifications for furnishing two long-wheel base~ 2 ton dump trucks~ and on recommendation of the department head and division superintendents for the heavier duty trucks, the Commission authorized the bid on a minimum basis for a motor of not less than 300 cubic inch displacement.
