052063 MINUTES City CommiSsion, Sanford, Fl°rida, May 20 at ti p. M 19_6}_ The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 4:OO o'clock P. M. on May 20, 1963. Present: Commissioner Thomas S. McDonald, Mayor " Joe B. Baker " J.H. Crapps " M.L. Raborn " A.L. Wilson City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr. City Manager W. E. Knowles City Clerk H. N. Tamm, Jr. Commissioner Wilson moved to waive the requirement of the 24 honrs written notice. Seconded by Commissioner R~born and unanimously carried. After consideration, Commissioner Crapps moved to authorize an agreement to pay Seminole County the sum of $15,OOO.00 for a statutory county deed free and clear of all encumberances as set forth in Chapter 128, Florida statutes 1961 to approximately 12 acres of land at the Municipal Athletic Grounds on Mellonville Avenue on which is now held a reverter clause. Said funds to be paid on a pro-rata basis as any deferred payments are received by the City and to bear the same interest rate as the interest rate received by the City on the mortgage from the sale of said land. The City reserving the right to pay off the balance of the aforesaid $15,000.00 at its discretion. The City offering its cooperation on the county road along the west side of the Municipal Golf Course. ~Seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Baker. Commissioner Baker stated that he felt the reverter clause held by the county on the aforesaid property was not anywhere near the value of the property involved with a'county road west of the Municipal Golf Course.
