PUBLIC NOTICE
SPECIAL CITY COMMISSION MEETING AUGUST 1, 2012, 4:30 P.M.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Please be advised that the City Commission of the City of Sanford will hold
a special meeting on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at 4:30 PM, or as soon
thereafter as practicable, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2nd Floor, Sanford
City Hall, 300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida. The specific purpose of
the meeting is to the planning for the City's 135th birthday celebration to
occur on September 29, 2012.
II Please be further advised that other subjects and matters involving the City
of Sanford may be discussed.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act,
persons with disabilities needing assistance to participate in
any of these proceedings should contact the City Clerk at
407.688.5010 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
Advice to the public: if a person decides to appeal a
decision made with respect to any matter considered at the
above meeting or hearing, he or she may need a verbatim
record of the proceedings, including the testimony and
evidence, which record is not provided by the City of

SPECIAL MEETING
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Meeting
on Monday, August 1, 2012, at 4:30 PM, in the Railroad Depot Room, 2 Floor, City Hall,
300 North Park Avenue, Sanford, Florida.
Present: Mayor Jeff Triplett
Vice Mayor Patty Mahany
Commissioner Mark M
Commissioner Velma Williams
Commissioner Randy Jones
City Manager Norton N. Bonaparte, Jr.
Records Manager Pat Lee (Arrived at 5:22 PM)

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Triplett at approximately 5:12 PM.
Leisure Services Director Mike Kirby and Leisure Services Manager Lisa
Jones distributed a hand -out titled "Sanford 135 Anniversary Celebration" that included a
proposed list of activities, suggested advertising, proposed budget as well as a proposed site
plan for the event. The event will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Fort Mellon
Park from 1 PM to 5 PM.
After discussion, there was consensus among the Commission for Mr. Kirby
to proceed with "Sanford's 135 Anniversary Celebration" as presented.
Mr. Bonaparte stated the Florida League of Cities annual convention will be
• held August 23 through 25 in Hollywood this year and asked if anyone was interested in

attending, and if so, that they contact Ms. Davison so arrangements can be made.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:26 PM.
