The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in speCial session at the
City Hall in the City of San~ord, Florida, at ll:00 o'clock A. M. on July 18, 1963.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
O. Douglas Stenstrom, Attorney, member of the delegation which met with
Dr. CulpepPer and the Florida State Board of Control, next appeared and reported that the
meeting was scheduled to make sure the Board definitely knew that Seminole County was
interested in obtaining a University and to get some clarification of the time involved to
secure a site and the work to be done to present a site. The Board recommended that the
County Commission submit no more than four sites, and not submit any site that it could
not deliver without cost to the State.
Tommy Peterson, Realtor, next appeared and stated he was sure that options could
be obtained on from 1,O00 to 1,200 acres for a site south of the City in the Lake Ada area.
After consideration of the two sites presented by the First Research Corporation,
Commissioner Raborn moved to authorize the Mayor to negotiate with said firm for a field
study of the additional site south of the City in the Lake Ada area for a sum not to exceed
$350.00, subject to securing the necessary options and subject to the total costs of the
property meeting the approval of maximum amount for which the County Commission would
submit a Bond issue. ~econded by Commissioner Baker and carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
