The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called
session at the City Commissioners Room at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida,
at lOt50 o'clock A. M. on April 15, 1964.
Present: Commissioner A. L. Wilson, Mayor

Absent: City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr.
Police Chief E. G. Williams
The Chairman announced that the meeting had been called to consider purchasing a
clay pit for the City.
Commissioner Crapps moved to waive the requirement of a 24 hours written notice
and to call the meeting into special session. Seconded by Commissioner Higginbotham and
carried by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
Commissioner Crapps presented an offer by Ellis Lloyd to sell for $10,000.00,
l0 acres of property north of Lake Mary Boulevard, on which he is now digging clay. The
City to have the prerogative to designate the site.
After discussion, Commissioner Crapps moved to purchase for $10,000.00 the
aforesaid property, with the City Manager and Engineer, and the City Commission to designate
the site, and providing the seller to supply any necessary easements for ingress and egress,
and an easement for drainage, and further, to authorize said property to be surveyed and
fenced, and to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to make payment from funds to be borrowed
from the Ssnford Atlantic National Bank for a period of 8 months at not over 4% interest.
Seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
