· City Commission, Sanford, Florida, September 15 at 8 P. PI.
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned regular
session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. on
September 15, 196~.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman.
The first order of business was a request submitted for a transfer of permit to
operate a taxicab from Sylvester Terrell, 2203 W. 13th Street, to Ulyses J. Brooks, 2200
W. 13th Street, and on motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Crapps
and carried, same was approved on the recommendation of the Chief of Police.
Request next submitted by Publix Super Plarkets, Inc., S~ore No. 103, for permit
for the sale of beer and wines for consumption off premises at 1080 State Street, and on
motion of Commissioner Higginbotham, seconded by Commissioner Crapps and carried, same was
approved on the recommendation of the Chief of Police.
Mr. Harold A. Wilde appeared to present a proposal from Maurice H. Connell and
Associates, Inc., to perform engineering and architectural services for the Waterfront
Development Plan as follows:

3. Soundings 1,~00~00
4. Economic Feasibility Report 2,230.00
After consideration, Commissioner Higginbotham moved to authorize a contract with
the aforesaid engineers to proceed with Items i and 2 of the Water Development Plan, and
further, to include Items 3 and ~ in said contract, but not to authorize proceeding with
these Items until further action of the Commission. Seconded by Commissioner Raborn and
carried.
Letter next submitted from the Sanford Chamber of Commerce requesting.office space
in the Recreation Department building in Plellonville Park or on the second:floor of the City
Hall. The City Planager reported that the Recreation Director was utilizing this park building
for storage of baseball league and playground equipment. Consideration next given to the
advisability of housing another operation on a long term basis within the City Hall, and
after discussion, the Commission approved the request for an office on the second flb0r of
the City Hall during regular hours of operation on a trial basis until December 31, 196~.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
