030165-Special Session MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida March i at ll A. M. 19 65 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at ll:00 o'clock A. M. on March l, 1965. Rotundo Absent: City Attorney Wm. C. Hutchison, Jr. Police Chief R. G. Williams The meeting was called to order by the Chairman. John Spolski, representing the Jet Lanes Bowling Lanes, appeared to discuss with the Commission the annexation proposal of the area at Highway 17-92 and 0nora Road, legally described as follows: All of Lots 28 through 37 inclusive of Amended Plat of Druid park as recorded in Plat Book 7, pages 5 and 6, of the Public Records of Seminole County, Florida; less the south 33 feet of Lots 31~ and 37 of said Amended Plat of Druid Park, and less the westerly 20 feet of Lots 32 through 37 of said Amended Plat of Druid Park. According to John Spolski, the acceptance of annexation by Jet Lanes and/or Simco Corporation was predicated on the City Commission agreeing t'o allow the liquor license now located at the M & R Bar and Package Store to be transferred to the Jet Lanes location. He further stated that the liquor bar would conform with all of the State and local laws, and would be physically separated from the bowling lanes, either in a partitioned room, or in a separate building. Next discussed by John Spolski was sewer and water connections and availability, ..and it was agreed by the Commission that the intent of the Commission was to make sewer and water co~ections available to the front of the Simco property for connections. A. K. Shoemaker, representing Simco Corporation, further added to the discussion that Simco Corporation would give the City the necessary ~welve-foot utility easement to the side of the Jet Lanes building, provided it did not conflict with the existing air condition unit. W. W. Home, representing himself as a property o~¢ner effected by the amuexation, next appeared and discussed water and sewer connection problems, as they affected his holdings. The Chairman then requested that a meeting be set for March 3, 1965, at 5:00 P. M. to take action on the said annexation, giving the Commission time for thought and. consid, eration. Next submitted was a request by John Burton, Valdez Hotel, for installation of a sign on the center area of the parking lot at Park Avenue and First Street, advertising 'the Caribe Bar of the hotel, on a rent or lease agreement; and on motion of Commissioner Baker, seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried, same was denied. Argenia Constantine next appeared to request an ext:ension be granted on Condem- nation Certificate No. 64-89, dated June 10, 196~, covering property located at 212 West Fourth Street; and after discussion, Commissioner Baker moved to extend proceedings until MINUTES City Commission, Sanford, Florida March 3- at 2[3_ A. Ff. 196.5 the regular meeting of the Commission, March 8, 1965, at which time Argenia Constantine was to present the Commission a bonafide contract for repairs to bring the property up to City Code specifications within 30 days, seconded by Commissioner Raborn and carried.
